“Lovely setting shame about the food and service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2012

While on a golfing holiday to the excellent Rosapenna hotel and golf complex. My wife and myself headed out to the Singing Pub for lunch it is situated on the beautiful Atlantic drive and the physical building and interior are very pleasing with its thatch roof and authentic interior.
We were meeting other friends and had arrived early and ordered a tea and a cofffee on hour later we were finally served this after numerous reminders to the bar man. At this stage the place wasn't even particulary busy.
The rest of the group arrived and we had ordered lunch. We ordered fish and chips which we thought would be a good bet. What was served was extremely disappointing with the food not being hot and the quality whilst being adequate was not up to the level you would expect at at seaside establishment.

“Nice traditional Irish pub serving good grub on the Atlantic Drive”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2012 via mobile

This place is worth stopping off at if you are on the Atlantic drive out of Downings. Quaint and clean old style Irish pub, with good pub grub and a great pint. It has a thatched roof and really is pretty. Its not a tacky touristy place but a real life 'olde world' establishment. Theres always two fires lit, one in the bar and one in the lounge area. Its a very welcoming place situated in the middle of the Irish speaking area. Dont worry though, as they all speak English as their first language, but if the local farmers are in then Irish can be their chosen language to have a chat. The menu has the usual burgers, fish and chips, salads etc, but they also have a local fresh mixed fish basket. If what you fancy is not on the menu they are only too happy to try and accomodate your wishes. If you are fortunate enough to arrive when there's a tradisional music session on, then this is a real bonus, and not to be missed. You will know when you first open the front door that this is a great place to be, either for a drink or a meal. They also have a restaurant open in the evenings which is more formal dining and I think only opens during the Summer months. If the Scallops are on I can recommend, even if they aren't ask. Highly recommended privately owned establishment.
