“Very nice zoo with a small train or car safari!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013

Lovely zoo which starts with a safari in your own car or a small car-train. You'll see many different animals closeby. They're obviously used to cars passing by because they pay little attention to you. The park itself has many beautiful birds like Parrots and birds of prey. There are different shows which are logically times so you can watch all of them without having to worry.

“Great visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

Nice park to spend the day! Kids love to pet the giraffes in the african hut. The restaurant has a nice selection of food and the prices at the self service are actually the same as at the waited tables.

“Top place for kids”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

Absolutely must for all ages, unexpected amount of different animals, some allow you to come close, feed and stroke them. We came after rain and part of the paces became swampy, so do not take your best pair of shoes there.

“Wonderful”

A great place to spend the day with your family with children or with a school trip. Enough to see and enjoy for a full day.

“Half the park excellent, half the park poor”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2012

Having paid 19euro each plus another 3 euro to park the car we expected more than we found. Studying animal management at university we usually incorporate an animal themed day to our holidays.

The drive through Safari followed tracks with large pot holes and was really only suitable for 4 wheel drives - I have driven on better farm tracks. You follow a queue of cars around and at times feel obliged to drive on with a car close up your bumper. It is the first safari I have driven on where they allow you to have the windows open - the zebras have become tame and come over to the car looking for food and allow you to stroke them.

Walking round the main zoo some of the enclosures have a very old feel about them - the big cats are all in very small enclosures with a metal table like structure for them to lie on. There is no enrichment in the cages and some of the animals are pacing and showing distressing stereotypical behaviours.

In contrasts the Birds of Prey and Monkeys are in a newer part of the zoo which is laid out with ample space and is enjoyable to walk around.

I truly hope all the animals will be moved into larger enclosures - with all that they charge for an entry fee they should have ample funds to be able to do so.
