We usually plan our trips sufficiently to make reservations for hotels before we leave home. This time, we did not do that because we did not decide how long we were going to spend in transit and how much time we would stay at any particular location. We stumbled onto this hotel along the mostly gravel inland road between Labrador and Quebec. Hotels and motels can be hard to come by up here, so make a reservation if at all possible. It is a nice place to stay, particularly if you spend a little extra for one of the better appointed rooms in newer section. It seemed that one woman made this place work at all and we figured she was the owner, Alexis, although she didn’t say and we didn’t ask. She checked us in and out and she was helping in the kitchen when we came down to the hotel restaurant after we settled in. She was also manning the front desk at the time. She was also the waitress when our dinner was served. She was not a young woman, but she was cheerful, friendly and determined. Stay here.
