“Hidden Gem- It is a total must stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

My husband and I spent three nights at Hotel Villa Mansa, in Lujan de Cuyo, which is only approximately 30 minutes from Mendoza. We rented a car with Budget at the Mendoza airport & drove down to Villa Mansa. It was great to have the car to drive around during our stay in Mendoza. We arrived at Villa Mansa in the late evening and were greeted by their amazing staff- whom offered us a glass of wine on the house- what an amazing way to start our vacation.

We had a WONDERFUL experience in the wine country & at Villa Mansa!

First and foremost the hotel staff (Barbara, Eugenia & team) (all of whom speak perfect English) could not be kinder -they go out of their way to ensure you have a wonderful & amazing stay. They always had wonderful recommendations and assisted us with any request we had – from booking our wine tastings, lunches at the bodegas (wineries) to dinner recommendations & restaurants. Breakfast was served very morning with a smile–outstanding selections of fruit, eggs, pastries, meat & cheese plate and tea, coffee, as well as orange juice. The room we stayed in was beautiful, large and had a flat screen TV as well as large bathroom. All the amenities were 1st-rate, the shower, the air conditioning was excellent, and our king size bed was heavenly. To top it off we had an balcony with an outstanding view of the vineyards & mountains every morning! The hotel's location & spectacular views allows you to really unwind, enjoy and relax. We are certainly making sure to return to Villa Mansa on our next visit & are making sure to spread the word about this wonderful hidden gem we found!!!

Room Tip: Room with a Balcony provides outstanding views of the winery & mountains!

We were visiting Mendoza for few days, just before Christmas. We were looking for a place where to relax, and stay away from the city heat and the Christmas rush. We found in Villa Mansa the perfect hideaway!! Located in Luján de Cuyo, one of the main wine regions of Mendoza, it allowed us to visit the many near-by vineyards and wineries. We could even enjoy a great selection of local Malbecs at Villa Mansa´s own degustation room.

The swimming pool enjoyed sunshine all day around and the poolside chairs were ideal for a well deserved “siesta” (nap) after visiting the area.

Our room was ample, decorated with great taste in the typical Argentinean country style that we liked so much and had a lovely view of the Andes´s snowy peaks, even in summer.

Staff was always attentive and willing to make everything as satisfying and complication-free as possible, from organising winery visits for us, to getting a car-rental or a taxi, etc.

The restaurant surprised us with modernised traditional dishes that were impossible to resist.

The owner, Viviana, personally checked that everything was to the highest standards and made us feel at home.

Overall, a wonderful place, highly recommended.

My wife and I went for dinner and we spent a wonderful evening.
Mansa, by the way, means placid, peaceful. And the place is just that.
Even though we did not stay at the hotel, we can tell it is a place to rest, away from the city and close enough to many bodegas where you can visit and taste outstanding wines.
Back to restaurant service: food is great with local cuisine influence. We tried "carne a la masa" which turned out to be exquisite. We also enjoyed olive oil with warm bread for an appetizer.
And dessert was also very well prepared and presented.
Even if it small, it is a restaurant to recommend highly.

Our company owns a winery property a couple of Km from this hotel. The rooms are huge, it is very peaceful, the service and the food and wine is excellent. It is definitely in the country and the surroundings are rustic. The WiFi and cell service in the rooms was weak but fine in the common area. They do great local cuisine including empanadas and carne (BBQ). It is a great place to stay.

I enjoyed a visit to Mendoza by staying at Villa Mansa, a perfect spot to scape from noise and enjoy great food and wine. Its location is a bit far from downtown Mendoza but I think that's the main concept, being surrounded by wineyards and trees with a great view of the Argentinian Andes. Service is great, as well as cleanness and food.

We planned to stay at Villa Mansa for the first three days of our wine and scenery visits in the Mendoza region. We liked so much the place that we decided to stay an additionnal night ! Located just West of Lujan de Cuyo, it was easy to reach our wine tasting appointments, visit the Andes or enjoy some nice restaurants at night after our day trips. The Villa is located at the back of an unadvertised vineyard, at the end of a 150 m dirt road. The room we stayed in had a very large balcony with a superb view of the Andes, was very convenient and clean. The bathroom was specially spacious. The pool was clean, large enough to take a few strokes and even lighted for night swims. The restaurant is small (6 tables), is open to outdoor light from two sides in the morning and offers a full self-serve breakfast. At night, the menu is typical of Argentine traditionnal food with a touch of distinction that we as foodies enjoyed ! The wine cellar carries an eclectic selection of good affordable bottles from surrounding vineyards. An exploration of the cellar lead us to discover some producers with which the hostesses kindly arranged additionnal appointments. Every information given by the hostesses were indeed usefull and they went out of their way to help make our stay a memorable one.

I am giving Villa Mansa a 5, because their service was outstanding. Barbara, Anna, and Eugenia, under Vivian's leadership, booked all our wine visits with perfect timing and advised on every question with enthusiasm and efficiency.

The property itself is all you could want from a boutique hotel. Very nice room and charming grounds. Their restaurant caters for breakfast, lunch and dinner and they are happy to serve wine you picked up on your wine tours.

We hired a rental car and it worked fine. The use of road signs seems optional, but with instructions from the ladies at Villa Mansa, we found every winery with seldom a wrong turn. We had GPS and Google maps, but again the local directions were the key.

Room Tip: I doubt you will go wrong with any room.
