Stayed in the Clayton with some friends for 2 nites in early July. I would have to say that the Clayton is a very solid 4 star hotel. We arrived early on the Friday, as we were travelling from London and arrived in Galway airport at 11.30 am. The hotel was only 5 minutes away, but they had no problem with our early check-in.

Even though the hotel is next to a busy dual carriage way, it is an attractive hotel; the lobby is striking, with lots of glass; the rooms quite luxurious and spacious..ours had 2 double beds, with a walk in wardrobe area and large bathroom.

Room service was instant, almost.. The food in the bar was excellent and efficient, and it was very busy at lunchtime, which is a good sign. The hotel had a decent pool, a little small, with sauna and steam room..it was a pity they didnt have a jacuzzi though, and the fitness room just had a few threadmills and rowing machines..Breakfast each morning was fine, with a good selection.

One thing, the lobby was very cold, both in daytime and night, so i would recommend the hotel investing in some heating there.!

All in all we had a great stay in the Clayton and would have no problem recommending it.

we attended a friends wedding and i must say what a pleasurable experience, check in was a no fuss affair, very quick and hassle free. the hotel itself is fab, the rooms are quiet spacious, we were provided with 2 huge queen size beds, which were like sleeping on clouds!!So comfortable ( after only booking a reg double at no extra charge), the bathroom is so modern. the best of everything was provided. a great place to stay for any occasion esp for the famous galway races which was only a five min walk! will definately stay again. well deserving of it's 4 * status.

Stayed here for 1 night on business and loved it. Doesn't seem like the quiestest location as its on a roundabout but I didn't notice the noise inside. Room is large with soft furnishings. Room service was good. Staff were very friendly. Good breakfast. would stay again

Stayed here in April for a night. We stayed in an executive suite and it was AMAZING. The BED WAS THE MOST COMFORTABLE BED EVER. The bathroom was HUGE. Staff were really nice and friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. We had breakfast the following morning and again delicious.

arrived in hotel at 8pm on a thursday evening, and checked in, given a room on 3rd floor, when i opened the door to the room the 1st thing I noticed was the dreadful load traffic noise, went back down to reception and said not a hope could I sleep in that room and I wanted to be moved to the other side of the hotel which would be quieter. I was giving room 152, which was a very nice big room, no traffic noise and was happy out. Turned on TV to chill out to discover that BBC 1, ITV & BCC 24 were not working, rang reception in case it was a connection fault but they never came back to me. One thing I noticed was it must be a family room as there was a interconnecting door to the next room, well about 11pm I could hear every and I mean every single word the gentleman was saying next door (he was on the phone), it was like he was standing in my room, it got so bad I had to ring his room and explain that I could hear everything he was saying. Got up in the morning for breakfast which I must say was horrible, the scrambled eggs had no taste, the orange juice (NOT fresh) seemed to be off, and really was not up to a 4* standard. I usually stay in the Park House Hotel in Eyre Square which is fantastic and will be returning to them again.

Can not recommend the Clayton
