This must be about our sixth visit to Orlege. It's the sort of place that keeps calling you back. In between times we stay in other cottages in other areas, but then we hanker after all the little luxuries Orlege provides and we've missed elsewhere. The space, the lovely china, the wine cooler, the uniquely designed kitchen with more than we've got at home, even the dog towels for when our hound explores the surrounding countryside and arrives "home" mucky. Not many places now seem to have real fires, not that it's needed for the heat as every time we stay we end up kicking off our shoes to enjoy that wonderful warm underfloor heating
It's so tempting just to linger inside and while away the hours with some of the books and games "G" has thoughtfully provided. But Crosswoodhill Farm is just such a fantastic location for setting out and exploring so much of central Scotland. I can't think we would ever run out of things to do or new exciting places to check out and it's great to return to the farm late on in the day. It's so peaceful and feels a million miles away from Edinburgh and Glasgow. Livingston is just 10 minutes away in the car. What a great place to escape to for a spot or more of retail therapy on a dreary day. So many shops and it's all under cover. Go on treat yourself, once you visit once you'll always want to go back.
The over all peace and quietness - with only the birds singing and the cows mooing
The Midge - wee candle at the front door soon sorted this out.
