Stayed for two nights in September to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I love this place. Fine beer and food at very reasonable prices - for the lakes! A blazing log fire, a wonderful atmosphere and pleasant staff complete the picture and make it a must stay.
B&B rates are fair. You have to realise that this isn't the Hilton, it's an historic property owned by the National Trust. The room was perfectly acceptable for a short stay, but not the largest or most luxurious we have stayed in. Breakfast, on the other hand, was perfection.
Spend an evening in the wonderful Towerbank Arms and you will wish you were staying here - or within walking distance.
Pay the small supplement for a superior room.
