“A fantastic stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

I booked a two night stay at the Cuckoo Brow via Living Social, however a similar offer is available through their own website. I can only say that the Cuckoo Brow is fantastic. All the team there are friendly and can't do enough to make you comfortable and happy. There are a selection of real ales, locally sourced, as is the food, which the Cuckoo Brow endeavour to source from a 20 mile radius. Our meals were beautifully cooked and very well presented, whilst prices were more than reasonable. The Inn is in a very small village, and was ideal for us as we were there for the walking. Stunning scenery, especially in the snow! If you want juke boxes, fruit machines and night life, this isn't for you - if you want to get away from it all, kick back, be well looked after and just enjoy your break, with or without your dog, book a stay here. You won't be disappointed. We will be back for sure.

I have found the perfect hotel & best of all I can take my pooch!

I can't speak highly enough of this hotel.. Staff very professional & friendly, food & drink tasty & reasonably priced, hotel decor modern & tasteful.

But what makes this hotel unique & special is how pet friendly it is... The hotel caters for its canine guests with special & attention.

The perfect weekend getaway, in a beautiful location with my best friend!

Enjoyed a really nice weekend at this country pub. Booked a Dinner, Bed & Breakfast deal at £119 per room, which was great value.
Rooms are large, with modern decor, contemporary bathrooms with great shower, comfy large beds, all spotlessly clean. The pub is in a quiet village, so great sleep.
Breakfast is well cooked & well presented & of good quality. All good & will definitely return.

The wife and I stayed over at the Cuckoo Brow Inn on the 11/12 Jan 2013. This is the second time we have visited. The food is great, the rooms are clean and modern. Can't wait to stay over again!

Thanks

We have eaten here a few times as its a nice walk over from Bowness via the car ferry. They have done wonders with the place since taking it over just over a year ago. The rooms have been completely refurbished to a good standard and they are reasonably priced for the lakes. The food as well has been revamped and the 20 mile menu (all food sourced within 20 miles where possible) ensures fresh and tasty offerings. I usually have the catch if the day which is always fresh and usually cooked to perfection. Yesterday didn't disappoint with salmon in a ginger cream sauce. My husband had the venison burger which he said was delicious. Chips were a bit disappointing as they were a bit overdone. The icing on the cake was the lovely, crisp, dry bottle of gavi (my favourite). I would recommend a visit for lunch, dinner or overnight break.

We have returned home this afternoon (10th Jan) after a lovely 2 night stay at Cuckoo Brow! We thoroughly enjoyed it, and hope to return in the not too distant future!

The rooms are lovely, nicely refurbished, warm and comfortable! Wonderful shower, and piping hot water! Absolutely delicious food...beautifully presented and served! All in our opinion reasonably priced....as were bar prices!

Breakfast was very satisfying and filling, and the entire atmosphere of the inn is one of cosiness and relaxation! Excellent and friendly staff and service completed the picture, and we would thoroughly recommend a stay at The Cuckoo Brow Inn........whether or not you have a dog in tow!!

Thankyou, Deryle&Ken.

Room Tip: We had room 2 at the front of the inn. Very quiet and peaceful even though on the main road.
