After cycling for about a week from St John's in pouring rain and cold winds, we found a lovely welcome here! Gave us the energy and enthusiasm to carry on. We made it all the way back to BC! We will be visiting again next year on a cycle ride from BC to St John's. We look forward to another stay at the Lilac Inn - and you have a link on our website. Dave and Maxine (bicycletrek.org)

We went to the Lilac Inn and stayed there one evening on our honeymoon while driving from St. John's to Gros Morne in Sept 2005. The decor is beautiful...At that time the Inn was getting new owners, Eileen and Keith, who honeymooned at the Inn when they were married, and our hosts were still Linda & Doug Churchill - I had a lot of fun here. We stayed in Suzie's room which was purple with a very warm quilt.

That evening I went to the Tickleview Inn for a simple delicious dinner and hung out with the Churchills and co. to watch Rex Goudie on Canadian Idol. Linda gave me a Vanilla dream bar and the recipe for it!

The breakfast was amazing- It was lingonberry pancakes with apple sausage...I still dream about this breakfast. We had a great relaxing time in Gloverton so much so thta on our drive back we had to stop by to see it one more time on this trip!

Interesting owners- interesting English furniture. Rooms a little small. Breakfasts very good. Price reasonable.
