“Welcoming passing visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

We stopped of for a coffee and light bite on our way to coastal Wales. The owners were very welcoming and accommodation. We only had coffees and a bowl of chips... But our little nuisances were accommodated. The dining area looked nicely decorated and there was an open fire. Because of pleasant staff I feel this is worth a try.

Went back to try the evening menu with friends as before we had had the early bird special.
All seven of us had a lovely meal, with five of us having the trio of fish special, my husbands mixed grill was enormous, and the tagliatelle also very good. we had all had starters, again good, but huge, so much so that next time I think I will only have the main.
Three had desserts, which were apparently ok, although the brownie could have done with cooking a bit longer apparently.
Good service, good drinks - well it is a pub as well, and the food especially the trio of fish was beautifully presented.

It was a lovely, relaxed atmosphere, however the food was nice but average and as a vegetarian and fussy eater there wasn't much choice. My mum ordered the Garlic Mushrooms with Garlic ciabatta bread and the mushrooms were not cooked and the Garlic Sauce didn't even have any garlic in so it was basically cream with herbs. My Stepdad and Uncle ordered off the Grill and on both meals it stated it came with chips and onion rings and they weren't to be seen when the meals arrived so they had to reorder them. However, the staff reacted pleasantly and didn't include the Garlic Mushrooms in the bill and deduced £10 off the bill for our inconvenience. So all in all an average meal, but lovely service.

Once again we had a fantastic Sunday lunch at the crown we went as a family for Father's Day we were given a Warm welcome by Mel and her team and quickly shown to a table. We ordered our lunch and after a short wait were served a roast dinner with all the trimmings staff were very attentive but not over powering, the food was of a very high standard and we all enjoyed it. We highly recommend the crown they never let us down

this was our 2nd visit to the crown and again we were not disappointed, the staff are very polite and helpful but at the same not in your face with it they are really friendly and efficient at their job
our only disappointment was they were only doing sunday roasts this weekend and we were looking for something from the menu but we were hungry by then and we both settled for the chicken roast spuds boilies and veg followed by a sticky toffee pud for and a chocolate fudge with loads of cream for my partner this along with a pint for me and white wine soda for my partner came to less than £30.00 good deal good food lovely pub

Room Tip: haven't stayed here so cant really comment except that the front is on a main road and maybe tra...

Called in on a Monday night about 6.15 on our way home from a day out with two friends. Just in time for the £6.95 early bird special. Two of us had the gammon, and another had the steak from the early bird menu. The gammon came with both pineapple and egg, and the portion was huge. The other person had the pie off the main menu which he said was lovely and was definitely home made. All the meals were delicious and were so large we couldn't manage dessert.
Drinks were good and the staff were all really welcoming and friendly.
Will be returning.
Also for people with dogs - the pub has a dogs welcome sign outside - presume this is in the separate bar area, but would presume you could also eat in there if you wanted.

We were staying at the Bodidris Hall just down the road in April and had a very disappointing meal on our first night, we called at the Crown the next day, liked the menu, liked the people even more and booked a table right away. they came to get us in the pub mini bus, looked after us and then Brian the owner took us back when we were ready on his way home. Special mention to Bethan who is a perfect host. Food great and portions huge, Lees bitter on draught perfect wide choice of wines by bottle or glass. Go, don't hesitate.
