A long romantic driveway leads to the front of this hotel, stepping out of the car I fell in love with the beautiful building and it's well kept gardens. I looked at my mum and said "I want my wedding here" - We hadn't even been inside!!
It was a typical October day, cold and wet. We walked into the hotel to be greeted by a roaring fire and fresh flowers everywhere - just STUNNING.
The ‘oldie worldy feel’ of the hotel had me sold and I was immediately in love. A huge contrast from the back of the hotel which is modern (giving you the best of both)
We didn't have an appointment; we chanced a quick glimpse and were shown around by the friendly staff as though they'd been expecting us.... The bedrooms looked clean and comfortable with nice bed linen, perfect for our wedding guests… the executive suites however have the WOW factor!!! Perfect if you want some added luxury. The function room is beautiful, a blank canvass, neutrally decorated to a high standard and can adopt any brides colour scheme. There are hidden extras, such as; coloured lighting which creates a real ambience and transformed the room from daytime to evening. A huge bonus…doors to take you outside in every direction (including wheelchair access) - great for functions if guests smoke or have to take children outside…I can’t think of anything worse than people interrupting speeches or people queuing all to exit from the same door.
From the moment I met Lee Kendall (The Functions Co-Ordinator) I knew I'd have the wedding I'd dreamed of, nothing was too much trouble…We looked at lots of other venues locally and none offerd this standard of service, it's quite literally like having your very own wedding planner. We were invited along to the wedding fayre and managed to organize so much and were made to feel extremely welcome, this is just one of several occasions where we visited Maesmawr Hall during our planning. We were always offered drinks etc, free of charge - It’s this type of attention to detail that gives Maesmawr its fantastic reputation.
We opted for an August wedding, we had the most beautiful weather and could take full advantage of the stunning grounds, Maesmawr provided games for the children on the lawns (nice touch) there are plenty of photo opportunities too!!
The food was superb; the service was precise and efficient. Staff were friendly and helpful. My husband and I literally had to turn up on the day; everything else had already been taken care of thanks to the fabulous communication we had with Lee and the team.
Instead of worrying about tying ribbons on the back of the chairs etc everything was taken care of by the venue, I had my last day of freedom to catch up with family, hassle free.
Our guests are full of praise for this hotel and all of its staff, its owners and of course Lee.
You’ve made all of dreams come true and we cannot thank you enough! I can honestly say that Maesmawr Hall is second to none, Lee and the team surpassed all of our wedding expectations. We have attended many weddings in this area and feel extremely smug that we picked somewhere truly unique ‘A Little Treasure’
I can proudly speak on behalf of my family and friends and say we most definitely had one of the best days of our lives! The only negative is that it went too quickly!
Everyone slept well and we were spoilt for choice when it came to breakfast, such a great variety…and very tasty!!
I would recommend Maesmawr Hall to anyone and everyone - you won't be disappointed!
