“Great tour, plus some nice hikes”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2012

It's fascinating to watch wool go from fleece to blanket - with minimal human intervention. The entire machine - which takes up the whole building - is powered by water. You can go down and look at the wheel. Amazing place for kids and adults alike.
Nice shop and tea shop. There are some interesting hikes up behind the mill, including a beautiful short one to a waterfall and glen. Just go past the bridge and look for signs.

Many thanks for recommending us. Our hydro-electric turbine will not be running for about a month while the pipe which supplies it is lined to repair the damage done in winter 2010/11.

This is a visit to make whilst in Snowdonia, after spending time in Betws-Y-Coed take the road over the town bridge curving to the left, passing Gwdir Castle on the left, enjoying the fantastic views.Sign posted to Trefriw ,the Woolen Mill is in the centre of the village with its own fast running stream, the village has several cafes .There is a cafe in the woolen mill shop supplying snacks, also a well stocked shop selling locally produced clothing, ideal for an afternoons entertainment for all ages.Further along the road you will see Trefriw Wells,"Spa" a Roman discovery where in more "recent "times our ancestors "took the waters "

Thank you for visiting us at this quiet time of the year and for reviewing us on Trip Advisor. We are going to stock more Welsh products this year as well as our own products which are woven here.

Thank you for visiting the mill and placing a review on TripAdvisor. As the report was placed in January we wondered if you visited recently and would like to point out that there is much more to see April - October i.e top two floors of mill museum with carding engines, spinning mule, warping mill etc and also the Weaver's Garden and handspinning demonstration (on certain days).

Thank you again for visiting.
