“Great place to stay in Milford-on-Sea”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2013

Stayed 2 nights in the Hayloft at the Vinegar Hill Pottery, a quirky & comfortable room up a spiral staircase. Beautifully furnished en-suite which had everything we needed. Breakfast brought to our room at a set time in the morning. David & Lucy are welcoming & attentive hosts, would definitely recommend.

Room Tip: The Hayloft is up a spiral staircase, this may make it difficult for some people to access.

I have been meaning to write this review for ages, but the selfish part of me didn't want to share this wonderful place! I went with my cousin and our 2 daughters last October half-term. My daughter and had the en-suite Hayloft and my cousin and her daughter had the Garden room that comes with the breakfast/TV room. Dave cooked us lovely breakfasts each morning and was very flexible catering for veggies and omnivores. We had a brilliant 3 night stay; New Milford is a real foodie place with a great choice of restaurants and pubs to choose from. We will be hopefully going back this year and I am planning to do a pottery course with Dave. Soreh, Brighton, UK.

Room Tip: Both the Hayloft and the Garden room were lovely with Dave's ceramic sinks in the bathrooms. If...

This is a great find, from Rosie the Gypsy Wagon, to the comfortable rooms and the very helpful Lucy. Its a quirky house with the pottery and showroom out front the B&B and family home at the back. The rooms are generous with their own breakfasting areas. All is spotlessly clean and comfortable. There is masses to do in the area and Milford is rapidly turning into a foodie's hotspot. A really lovely place to stay for a winter weekend.

We stayed two nights in the hayloft room and it was the perfect size and location. We liked the vaulted ceilings and the skylights throughout the room and bathroom. The outside spiral staircase was a fun and unique experience. We are both in our mid twenties so we had no problem gliding up and down the narrow steps. The bed was a generous size and extremely comfortable. We both enjoyed the self catering in the room with the night cool box as well as the superbly cooked breakfast in bed. We had the full English breakfast both mornings! Lucy was so nice as to make French toast for me by request!

The en suite was very clean and modern.
The location to the centre of town was perfect, just a short 10 minute stroll. Take a torch at night.
We stayed at the pottery to experience the new forest area which was easily accessible from here.

A very memorable stay and great place to relax and be happy.
Thank you David and Lucy!

Spent two very comfortable nights in the Hayloft, with it's wonderful bathroom and very comfy bed. Lovely breakfast served in our room on David's beautiful pottery. A perfect spot for wandering into Milford for walks and dinner. Highly recommended!

Spent a week at David & Lucy's 5 nights in the garden room, 2 nights in the hayloft, both were exceptionally clean, with great bathrooms, the beds are comfortable,& the breakfasts first class. A great location for strolling into Milford only a ten minute walk, but also a great base for touring further afield, the new forest & the isle of wight were our favourites, as other reviewers have stated parking on site is plentiful & both David & Lucy worked extremely hard to ensure our stay was smashing, if in the area again will check to see if this diamond is available.

We spent 2 nights in Vinegar Hill's very own Victorian gypsy caravan, then 2 nights in the Hayloft and thoroughly enjoyed both parts of our stay.
The caravan is, obviously, small but so quaint and the bed was extremely comfortable. You soon get used to the dimensions of the caravan(mind your head on the entrance) and start to relax. It's a little closer to the house than I would have preferred however it still felt private. If you like camping but would prefer to be looked after(no cooking on a camp fire or sharing showers!) this is the place. Take your flip-flops for those midnight walks to your private shower room.
The Hayloft is a lovely room to stay in. Clean, contemporary and large, it's easy to wish you'd booked for longer. Breakfast is bought to your room/caravan each morning with a cool box left the night before with fresh milk and juice etc. Delicious!
Milford is a lovely little village, kind of a modern day Camberwick Green. Next to the sea but with an easy drive to the New Forest and Bournemouth, this is a great base to travel from. Highly recommended.
