We ate at the Bistro with friends and had excellent food at prices that were less than some pubs in the local area.
The Bistro is basic compared to the main restaurant but if wooden tables and chairs with no tablecloths and paper napkins means bargain prices for very nice food, then I'll be back.
Good sized portions, figs with parma ham followed by pork belly with black pudding. Always room for creme brulee. Nice evening.
Can be a bit difficult to hear conversation if the place is full but shouldn't put you off.
