“One of the best ever for outstanding home cooking and excellent value.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2012

You must go here. You just must.
Delightful appeal of white washed frontage and lots of hanging baskets.
Good menu of honest 'pub food'.
Very warm and welcoming service.
Touches made it superb - burger ( Aberdeen Angus, hand shaped and served with homemade tomato and chilli jam), chilli ( side order salsa and nachos included as was offer of more chilli heat of desired), chicken balti (exquisite mango chutney - a really good lone and light fluffy basmati rice). Calamari shared starter to take the edge off extreme hunger came SO quickly as I'd jokingly requested express service to stop hungry kids passing out after a full Thorpe Park day and swimming!

This was a starter, 3 mains and 3 soft drinks for £30.25.
Stunning value, outstanding food, friendly and caring service. This should rate #1 in area.
Go and then review it - bump it up as deserves to be appreciated.
Apparently has huge gardens with space for 120 outside - but it was dark and I missed that.
Sunday lunch sounds incredible for £10 too.

“Gorgeous, cheap, homemade food at a lovely country pub”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2012

My wife and I stayed in the Beaumont estate and arrived at the Fox and Castle at 7pm, they were still serving till 9pm.
There was a vast selection of starters and mains for all tastes.

I ordered the Slow cooked belly pork with mash and veg
My wife ordered the Chicken Balti, Naan bread and mango chuckney
My son had a childs portion of Scampi, chips and peas

3 soft drinks all came to £25.

It was friendly service, the food was quick & homemade. It was delicious!!

It has a very friendly atmosphere to it. A lovely local pub, that welcomes children. The children can play in the beer garden in the back.

Would eat here again definitely

“Lovely cosy village pub”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2012

Really friendly local village pub. Food freshly cooked and tasty. Range of beers good and a nice absence of teenage clientele. Big screen TV in one bar, excellent garden area for families.

“Lovely pub”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2012

This pub has gone through may phases in the past none of which were memorable. In the last few years the tenant Vince has turned it round and made it unrecognisable for all the right reasons. It is now a lovely local with a very warm welcome. The food is good and there is an excellent wine list. There is a monthly pub quiz and various other events including an occasional gourmet night. You will enjoy a night out here.
