“Good Old Fashioned Pub”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2013

There aren't many of these around anymore but The Ship Inn is one of the few remaining traditional English pubs in the area. Hearty pub food accompanied by great beer, friendly and polite staff and a good atmosphere is always a success. Keep up the good work!

“Experience ruined by horrendously rude waiter”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2013

Any waiter who thinks it's appropriate/funny to write the number of WeightWatchers on the back of a meal bill needs a serious reality check. It's extremely peculiar business practice to actively put customers off eating your food. My companions and I (not a one of us overweight, by the way) were all grossly offended and I will never return. Grim.

“Lovely old school pub.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2013

If your interested in your real ales the ship is the place to go. They had a selection of 6 on including several local ales, the trappers hat being my favourite. The food is standard pub grub and was very nice. Ill be back again for a pint.

“Does the trick”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2013

Good Abbot Ale and Deuchars. Food - standard pub fare - baked potato with Chilli, chicken and ham pie. Veg plentiful and fresh. Has a home cooked feel, so nothing to write home about, but then its very reasonably priced and for our local is a good, basic alternative to cooking your own lunch.

“good hearty pub grub”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2012

Following a big walk at the beach, decided to stop in for a late lunch... very nice. Roasting hot, tasty and well presented. Nice old pub, lots of ship nicnacs around. Didn't go for the 2 for a 10£ menu so can't comment on the quality of that menu, but we both thoroughly enjoyed our choices from the main meals.
