“Very pleasant lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2013

Went for an informal birthday lunch today and was quite surprised to be only 2 of 4 diners in the restaurant. It was our first time here and to be honest, the owner was very warm and charming and served us himself, and making it feel like a very personal dining experience. The food itself was of a good standard, and service very attentive. Sure it's not Chotto Motte but we weren't expecting that! A decent selection of items on the menu, tasty, well presented and looking forward to another visit back, maybe at a different time of day. Living 10 minutes away, I am glad we decided to try out this restaurant - my favourite was definitely the calamari - one of the freshest, most tender and well cooked around, not like some of the pre-battered attempts at tempura you often find in some restaurants!

“Wow !! So so happy i have found this place :-)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2013

Came across this restaurant on the off chance as I had to get off train at radlett en route to st albans. and im so glad I did. I love Japanese food and my boyfriend doesn't so it was even more amazing that whilst Bukushi concentrates on marketing itself as a Pan Asian & Sushi restaurant, it also has an amazing choice of New York Deli & Grill items which pleased my boyfriend. and wow was he pleased . he said it was the best burger he had ever had and was amazed that the price was so low for such quality. I opted for some sushi and some small pan Asian dishes and they were just fabulous. Freshly cooked dishes and fresh fish and presentation and service also 10/10. We have already ordered a few deliveries from here and even though its takeaway there is no reduction in quality or taste. I would highly recommend this place to everyone whether you like sushi or not as the menu is so big. Apart from no sign of any pasta dishes there is something for everyone. No wonder this place has such great reviews .

“Great Value With a Taste Card”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2013

Cafe Bukushi is a great small restaurant with a personal service and attention to detail. The restaurant is quite small, but very well decorated. Julian served us and was extremely helpful and courteous & even suggested a few vegetarian options. The range of food is particularly impressive, and they offer New York style menu as well as Sushi/Pan Asian menu and options such as Thai curry. We tried the Chief signature Thai curry & some Sushi which were great.

Pros:

1. The restaurant accepts Taste Cards, which gives you a discount on your meal (some signature dishes are excluded). This makes it particularly good value for money given the warm friendly service and quality.

2. There is plenty of choice if you want a varied selection of food.

3. Cafe Bukushi also has varied offers on its website that you can use if you do not have a Taste Card. It is worth visiting their website to see the latest offers available prior to visiting.

Cons:

1. You will need to book in advance to get a table, as this is a popular restaurant and has limited seating space.

However this is not a criticism of the restaurant in any way, as it intends to be a boutique specialty restaurant.

“First class”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2013

Great food, takeaway and eating in. Not only is the food great but the owner is one of those classic and true restauranteurs who works tirelessly to satisfy and charm his customers. Nothing is too much, too difficult or beyond him and this is shown in the excellent presentation, catering services, prompt delivery and high attention to detail. This place values it's customers and I'm sure enjoys many return visits from diners. Quite an achievement really to offer a really broad menu and deliver on it time again. Simple said, recommended, highly recommended. Pleasant ambience, background music and a cosy feeling coupled with fresh sushi, and a personal service.
