We have stayed many times at the Old Vicarage and are surprised it has yet to be reviewed considering the compliments in the visitors' book and our own experiences.
This B & B is on the edge of the village of Yarcombe, outside Chard and is a beautiful house in its own grounds. The hosts, Ann and Jon, are very welcoming and helpful but very unobtrusive and ideal hosts. They are very knowledgeable about the local area and offer advice on where to eat and what to do and see, if asked.
The accommodation is extremely comfortable with very lovely beds and beautiful bedding and duvets. One of the rooms has an amazing four poster bed. The views from the rooms over the gardens and duck pond are very peaceful and relaxing. Facilities are either ensuite or private bathroom with everything you could need being provided.
A short walk through a gate into the church graveyard takes you the Yarcombe Inn - a community pub offering good ales and nice pub food.
Breakfast includes a tasty full English as well as cereals, juice, toast, yoghurts and often includes an added extra such as chilli pears or home made preserves.
We would not consider staying anywhere else.
