I visited St Clerans for a weekend break with my girlfriend. We were both very tired and a little stressed out from work. We were initially worried that it might be a bit too stuffy for us being a manor house hotel- we couldn't have been more wrong.

St Clerans is an exceptional property. It is first and foremost a beautiful house. On arrival the staff make you feel immediately welcome. They are all very warm and accommodating.

We were brought up to our suite. the best in the house, above the drawing room in the old house. It was impressively large. The bed was fantastic. It had all the amenities that one would expect and more, including a huge bathtub which was Huston's private tub. The bathroom is a wonderful size (similar in size to some hotel rooms) and the dressing room was a great addition.

The food was excellent- the Japanese chef Kuma cooked up a treat each evening. No request was too large for the accommodating staff. They have an excellent masseuse on site and horse riding was very good fun.

I have stayed in some of the world's finest hotels and St Clerans certainly stands proudly and deservedly among the best.

Just fantastic - I stayed there just once, and had dinner there too, and it was beautiful - so peaceful, just perfect.

The rooms were amazing - like staying in your own private island of luxury. Breakfasts are amazing and the dinners are out of this world.

The hotel staff were perfect - they even arranged horse riding with a local trainer - Tom McNamara who raises Irish sport horses - we had a fantastic day out.

Well done and keep up the good work!

My family (7 adults) spent four wonderful nights at St. Clerans in November. That is really an understatement - we spent four luxurious, marvelous nights there and I can't wait to return!! We celebrated a milestone birthday for my mother that had been in the works for months. I emailed the general manager, Ken Bergin, for weeks (really months) before our visit. Ken was wonderful to deal with and really ensured that our stay was one we will always remember. He and his staff are superb. I have equally wonderful things to say about the chef and the elegant dinners and breakfasts that are served. I am especially grateful to them for the dinner they prepared for my mother's birthday. The rooms are beautiful and extremely comfortable. We were in five rooms - all were luxurious. I highly recommend this very special place.

We were a family party of 9 with 5 adults and 4 adult children. Our hope was for a manor house to escape to right before Christmas that would feel like home should feel if you weren't so exhausted with Christmas preparations. We felt we had stepped into a movie....it did feel like home and we were made to feel at home. Reviewers have described the outstanding food, the helpful staff, the grounds, and so on. T'is all true. What I can add is that when we arrived at 1 PM from an overnight flight, we were a bit haggard, stressed from our drive on the opposite side of the road, and starving. In no time, although lunch is not served at St. Clerans, we noticed the smell of fresh vegetable soup. After freshening up we were served soup and sandwiches. My only regret was leaving on Christmas Eve. St. Clerans closes on Christmas Eve through Boxing Day. Perhaps this focus on family time for the staff is why this hotel understands how to welcome a family.

Hello,

My wife and I came from America (NYC) to be married in Ireland in August 2006. Following a ceremony at St. Colman's parish church in Craughwell, we returned with our guests to St. Cleran's for our reception.

To some extent, words fail to describe the wonderful experience that St. Cleran's staff, led by the incomparable Ken Bergin and Chef Kuma, provided for us that day.

But, let's start before the ceremony. St. Cleran's helped make our slightly madcap dream of a "destination wedding" a reality by helping us sort through our choices for florists, bakeries, car services, hairdressers, makeup artists, musicians, etc., by letting us know who they recommended, but by giving us a full range of choices. Ultimately, we made the decision to follow their recommendations, and were not disappointed at all.

Then, when we arrived before the ceremony, St. Cleran's played host to around 20 of our family and friends who arrived from America, including helping us put on a rehearsal dinner (which we had forgotten to plan for) the night before the wedding, while the dining room was full with another party. A slightly awkward and challenging moment handled with great care.

The reception itself was a bit of magic. The service was sublime, the food flawless, the spirit generous and giving.

And of course, the rooms are gloriously appointed without being too formal, and very comfortable.

In all, nothing short of perfection. To say that my wife and I recommend St. Cleran's is an understatement. We believe that if you can, you simply must enjoy the singular experience St. Cleran's offers. St. Cleran's elegantly embodies the spirit of Céad míle fáilte.
