A total 5 Star experience. I am amazed by the negative reviews. Showed up with children after the night flight JFK to Shannon and they could not have been more accomodating. Gave us a fabulous family breakfast after restaurants were closed and got us into the rooms early. Rooms were beautiful, food excellent, staff very helpful with every thing. I left my glasses at a castle and the staff member got the glasses brought back to the hotel before my early departure the following day. They arranged a great tour with a fabuous kid-friendly guide. Beds and bathroom are top of line. Views on the first floor, are not that great, so I'd request something higher.

Hotel is expensive, but for the first couple of days, it is a wonderful way to start the Irish experience.

I was booked in for 2 nights as a wedding party for New years eve and I was very dissappointed. We had room service and the plate and contents were barely warm. the bar staff moved us from the downstairs bar without warning up into a small room which was cramped. The actual hotel is beautiful but when you compare it to the likes of the Killarney Park Hotel it would only make a 3 star at best. This is the standard of hotel that gets a 5 star rating because is has some nice hideway rooms that you can sit and read the paper. The Pulman served very nice food but I must say sitting by the carriage window I was frozen. Wedding meal in the chapel was fantastic but the staff and general attitude left a lot to be desired. I will not stay there again.
