We visited on Sunday 20th October with around 15 other members of our classic car club. We'd booked and most of us had ordered in advance to make things easier for the kitchen staff, but the waitresses coped very well with the one group of us who hadn't ordered, adding their order in and bringing all the food at around the same time. The Sunday roasts looked excellent, but being a vegetarian I had ordered the veggie burger and fries - I find that how places do this simple meal is a real indicator of quality and here I wasn't disappointed at all. The chips were large, crispy and fluffy; the burger was in a lovely chewy ciabatta roll and it came with little pots of salsa and coleslaw. Really nicely presented too with the chips in a wire basket. Great stuff. We were too full for a pudding, but those we saw going to other tables looked great.
