“A pleasant, comfortable B&B ideally located for a trip to Bath”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

My wife and I normally stay in what you would call modern branded hotels but thought it would make a nice change, as we wanted to have a weekend in Bath, to try something different. We were not disappointed in Lorne House, our room was very good, it was modern but had a traditional feel about it, the bathroom had everything you needed and we appreciated the walk in shower. I would have liked a larger TV but thats just what I'm used to. Breakfast was cooked fresh and I particularly liked the coffee I was given.

Overall, we enjoyed our weekend in Bath and this was enhanced by our stay at Lorne House.

My son and I stayed 1 night at Lorne House in October. We would recommend this bed and breakfast. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was beautifully decorated with quality furnishings, just all the lovely extra touches in a bed and breakfast that makes it very special. The bathroom was gorgeous. Owners and staff of Lorne House were very friendly and welcoming. Box is a lovely town within easy reach to Bath and some beautiful countryide and villages around the area. Breakfast was included and was delicious with a wide range of foods. I would have loved to have stayed longer, my son really enjoyed our stay also. Went to a wonderful pub just a short walk away for dinner, The Bear, which we really enjoyed also. Im planning my UK holiday next year and would definitely return to Lorne House. Highly recommended.

An absolutely wonderful B&B, great quality, service and value for money. We had a double room with an ensuit, power show, comfortable bed, tea and coffee, free wifi and free parking etc. The location is great - literally 10 min away from Bath, 20 min away from Lackok and 25 min away from Castle Combe. Ideal location to explore the area. Highly recommended.

We booked 4 rooms with our friends for two nights for a Wedding nearby. This B&B is incredibly luxurious, we all had beautifully equipped bedrooms and the owners were extremely friendly. Breakfast was delicious. Thanks!

Nice quaint hotel, with great staff. Excellent breakfast.
Bedroom was nice as B&B goes but be prepared to lug your luggage up at least two flights of stairs ( about 24 )
We enjoyed our stay but would probbaly prefer to stay closer to Bath next time.

We appreciate the compliments re. our staff, the breakfast etc.. but we wish to put the record straight concerning our stairs. If you come in the main front door ( which most people do) then you only have to go up one straight flight of stairs . If you choose to come in the back door then, you will have to climb 2 flights, at most, as no more exist !
If assistance is requested with carrying baggage up to the rooms we are very happy to do so if we possibly can.
Bath is 6 miles away on a main bus route with buses every 20 minutes, Most people stay with us because they don't want to be in the middle of town ( with nowhere to park) and find us and the great village of Box a welcome respite from the hustle & bustle .

A very pleasant stay. We had the quad room with huge shower room. I tried to book in Bath centre which was impossible then found Lorne House and was so pleased Bath was full as we had a better stay with a beautiful room, and free parking. Fab pub dinner in the village with live music. In the morning we were waited on at breakfast which was better than a 5star hotel with local sausages too. We didn't need lunch! Clean and friendly and well run. We would definitely stay again.
