The booking was confirmed, for three nights, over the phone, but, when we got there it didn't exist. Never mind, they did find us a room locally for the first night and had a room available for the second and third. The place was clean and tidy and the room, on first inspection, was very nice....however it was above the smokers area for the bar so unless you enjoy the smell of cigarette smoke the window has to stay closed. It was also in full view of the carpark so the blind has to stay close too.Still,we could have the other window in the room open as long as you stood on a chair to wind the blind back up again. The artwork on the walls was a little sinister...a crying baby amongst two stalking cats and a third taking the baby's milk. There wasn't a hairdryer in the room and if there had been, there was no mirror any where near to the plug. The breakfast was 'find the room yourself 'and don't expect the female staff member to keep the milk, juice, coffee etc topped up until they had been asked several times.......she approached us with her hands in her pockets and we were met with a sigh when I ordered scrambled eggs and extra toast. Breakfast on the second morning was a case of find a clean cup the young man even checked the cups and didn't remove them. The room was poorly serviced, tea, coffee etc not topped up, the shower hadn't been cleaned, cups weren't washed and the bin wasn't emptied. On returning home I contacted the hotel and expressed my disappointment leaving a contact number for the matter to be discussed with the owner. He hasn't called, hence this review.
