“Great break at Llyndir”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

Just back from a short break to this Best Western. Had a super time thanks to great hotel, warm welcome in rotten weather! Hotel was really comfortable, well appointed and real bonus was team of staff, without exception a top team. Great location, set in beautiful grounds, close to Chester and shopping at Cheshire Oaks. Village of Rossett truly charming with couple of good pubs. On the list foer a return visit.

Room Tip: we had upgrade on first floor, really warm no issues with noise

Had to attend a funeral nearby in atrocious weather. Llyndir Hall was like an oasis in the snow. Large cark park and beautiful grounds. The hotel had three lounges with nice decor and well heated for the cold weather. The bedroom was comfortable with a large bed and good drawer and hanging space - ther was an ironing board and iron. There was a TV but no idea how the programs worked. For instance, found it difficult to get BBC1 or BBC2. I am not sure if we had an executive room or not. The hotel has a small pool with sauna and gym. Pool was warm and towels were issued at the pool. The breakfast was OK - fried eggs looked as if they were made by a first year trainee without much sense- and though there were newspapers lying around I was not sure if you had to pay to look at them durng breakfast.

Room Tip: We had room 50 but there were 5 other rooms used by our party and there were no complaints bar that...

Very nice hotel, recommend the executive rooms, or suites upstairs. Been staying here since October, and still here... I,ll be honest I have had a few problems than most hotels I,ve stayed in here. But the staff have sorted them out for me.
As a best western hotel it is one of the better ones I,ve stayed in.

Room Tip: Orchid or willow

We stayed here for one night with friends and had a lovely stay. We had been upgraded and the room was very nicely decorated and furnished, the bed was really comfortable and the bathroom was nice and large too. We had booked to eat in the restaurant and the food was fabulous and we felt good value. Our only minor complaint was that a large Christmas "do" was being held and the staff were somewhat preoccupied with that. Understandable but when I was served a glass of warm white wine, yuk, and then asked for a chilled one we were told that all the chilled wine was in the other bar for the party! They did manage to find us a bottle and a cooler when pushed though. At the end of the evening we asked for a glass of Baileys and, yes, it was all in the other bar as well apparently! However, a small issue made up for by the rest of the experience. It didn't spoil our stay and we would certainly go back without hesitation.

We were married at LLyndir in August 2012 . I cannot praise Ed and his team more highly. I would strongly recommend the hotel to anyone that is planning a wedding .

We are a demanding couple and have very high expectations . We are fortunate to have been able to have had our wedding reception at any venue that we would have liked to ..Llyndir proved to be perfect .. Ed was marvellous and produced a wonderful day for us . All of our guests praised the location , the professionalism of the team , the quality of the food and the general atmosphere that was created .

We had not planned to be married at the hotel for definite , but called in one Saturday evening and were so impressed by Ed s approach and manner that we were sold on the idea

. I then plagued the team with our demands and requests over the following few months all of which were dealt with precisely and without exasperation .Our wedding was simply perfect .. I hope that these comments help you to make your decision .

Returned from this hotel last week after spending Christmas there. It was the first time in an English hotel over Christmas and it was just wonderful! The staff couldn't do enough for us, they were friendly without being over-familiar, we were welcomed by the house butler who took us up to our rooms. The rooms were very comfortable, warm, well decorated, lovely hot water and a king size bed even for a single traveller. What is more the bed was exceptionally comfortable. One slight problem with the TV remote which was reluctant to work but as I used the radio far more, it wasn't really an issue. The food was fantastic, presented beautifully (people took photos!) and didn't overfill. A waitress said 'we aim to feed, not to stuff' and she was spot on. The entertainment was good, but answers to the treasure hunt would have been nice. The singer on Gala night was good but didn't really play to his audience. the hotel is set in gorgeous grounds and I loved the kitsch plastic sheep and dog. On the whole a brilliant break and I want to go back!
