“delectable food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2013

Went here via family recommendation and we were not disappointed with the quality of the food and managed to get a seat despite not booking in advance and the restaurant being very busy that evening.

The only thing I didn't like was the look and feel of the venue as bit minimalist but that's my personal taste

“Excellent seafood”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013

Fish and seafood is incredibly fresh. Simple recipes that highlight the natural flavours of the ingredients. The mussels cooked in cider I had were fantastic. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable of each dish served.

“Returned for seconds”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2013

Our party of four first ate here last summer on our way back from Skye. So it was a no brainer to make a return visit on journey back from Plockton this week. Yet again the seafood was delicious, with three main course scallops and me having the whole brown crab. All dishes cooked to perfection and served by our friendly waitress from last year. She even opened the shop so the women could spend even more money on the excellent Spanish ovenware !
So what if it is big and bright like a canteen, people go there for the best seafood thay money can buy, we will return again and again.

“Where do they get all that beautiful seafood???”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2013

On our walk along the West Highland Way, the owner of our B and B suggested we take a taxi ten minutes out of town to the Lochleven Seafood Café. He said that many people book his B & B just to rest overnight after spending an evening eating there! I can see why. Set across the street from a small picturesque lake, the menu offers "local" fresh seafood. Mussels, lobster, various fish, scallops. All that from that small lake??? Regardless it was fantastic. The four of us shared their major special seafood platter. Tons of seafood prepared to perfection. Made the first 20 miles of our walk seem very much worth it. A great surprise and just about the best food we ate along the whole walk.

“If you love seafood then visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2013

We were on a return trip to this cafe. The seafood is excellent and well presented. The scallops were great. We had fish of the day which was lovely. Other diners were very happy with the huge platters filled with a full range of seafood. It is so fresh and tasty. I do feel it was not quite as good as last year, not as much effort from the women waiting on. If you have the chance to visit then do so.
