We have just enjoyed a lovely sunny weekend walking in God's own county, staying at Bagden Hall on a special spring break package. We had a nice room in main building with lovely view over the fabulous grounds. My only moan would be shower is pretty weak (over-the-bath mixer type) but we got by. Breakfast was good but not fabulous (better quality, more meaty sausages would be nice?). The evening meal was very good throughout. Nice fresh bread with oil/balsamic dip plus olives. Tasty mackerel salad, followed by poussin cooked with beans and chorizo -absolutely delicious. Just as I thought it couldn't get better came the dessert -chocolate and salted caramel torte- to die for. The wine (Pinotage) was very good indeed and not expensive. Pleasant, likeable & professional young staff in the restaurant made the evening meal a good experience...apart from the music. There was a wedding do on in the evening with some degreee of noise, but nothing to serious. Overall excellent value for money -we were amazed at what was included in the price.
