“Fantastic stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2014

Our one night stay was bed, breakfast and evening meal.
We have visited Mottram Hall which is also a De vere hotel so we were setting our standards high. The hotel was set in a very pretty area.
Our greeting from all staff was superb, it was lovely to see a concierge to help us with our luggage and the extra touch of parking your car. Suzanne the receptionist was very accomodating and did everything she could to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable, nothing was too much trouble.
Our room was very stylish with a lovely touch of a basket of fruit, we had a bottle of wine which we could take to dinner with us. The bed was huge and most comfortable. I didn't bother with going in the spa pool as we had a spa bath in our room.
The food was very tasty and plentifull, the waitresses were very professional and friendly, we couldn't fault the service.
The breakfast was lovely, it was nice to see a chef cooking eggs in the dining area, it was nice to have so much choice it was all yummy.
We went to the gym which was clean and had plenty of equiptment. We didn't go into the pool until the next day due to it being busy (Sunday afternoon). The pool was of a good size and so was the jacuzzi , the only issue i had was that people were walking in the pool area with outdoor shoes on, i even saw a female member of staff with no 'overshoes' over her outdoor shoes. This is the only issue i had. We had a fab time, great facilities and great staff will definatley be coming back.

Had such high expectations for this hotel as we know a couple of people who had already stayed here. First impressions were very good lovely setting and imposing building on the drive up through the golf course. Staff lovely and welcoming despite a few problems checking in (room had electrical faults?!) so didn't check in til nearly an hour after check in time.
Family room lovely and big with nice views from the verander. Additional things like a fridge were a bonus to keep drinks/water cool.
Now to the negatives;
Pool area overcrowded. No chance of swimming as too busy, no chance of using jacuzzi as always full.
Restaurant overpriced and quality of food not up to standard. Staff in main restaurant not very atentative we practically had to get up and walk out before anyone came over regarding the bill.
So dissapointed in food that we ate out the second night of our stay at the Egerton arms, which is just around the corner, and far better quality and value.
Breakfasts were typical buffet style but not the best quality produce.
Despite our reasonably priced deal we will not be staying again and this is disappointing as we like staying in a lot of the hotels within this chain.

I recently stayed at Carden Park with my sister for 2 nights . We went there to relax and have a little bit of "me time ". I have to say although we have stayed there many times it still has the "wow factor" and never fails to impress me. The spa offers some of the best treatments with very professional therapists ,I have been to Hoar across Hall and not received as good ! Food in the Vines restaurant is really good,I can definitely recommend the Steak...very tender, melt in your mouth. The Redmonds restaurant is more formal but very nice and more relaxing. Breakfast time can get busy so I'd recommend getting there before 9 if you prefer it a little quieter. It's set in beautiful grounds if you fancy a walk after breakfast :-)
Lovely place to go with the family ,partner or friends. I must say a thank you to Julia who although very busy always makes us feel very welcome :-)

My husband and I have gone through a lot of stress and decided to go away from everyone and everything and this is certainly was, it is miles away from everything but this is what we wanted. No one bothered us and we did not have any internet or communication on our phone.

we relaxed and did absolutely nothing except go into Chester to have something to eat on the Saturday "upstairs at the Grill" food absolutely mouth watering suggest you book.

Breakfast in hotel could not fault and staff very helpful. had a lovely room and very clean in one of the annex.

What more could we ask!

Room Tip: enjoy and ask for annex room

We arrived at the hotel to be told that the room we had booked was not available! The receptionist put us in the court yard, we couldn't of been further away from hotel. After complaining we were given another room, this was again not what we booked. We dined in the restaurant and after leaving signed the receipt, we were then rudely interrupted by a member of staff to say we hadn't paid for our drinks which of been billed to our debit card! We had to resolve this at reception, which took time out of our evening! The next day we used the spa and was collected for treatments at 12.20 instead of 12.00 and our treatment was cut short. I felt like it was like a conveyer belt in spa. We then went for dinner and no body came to serve us so we got up and went to leave for a lady to say oh sorry I forgot to serve you! Overall the customer service is terrible the only polite person there is the porter man.
