Me and my boyfriend came here for a few days away. We found a deal on the hotels website, 20% off summer savings - room with 3 course dinner and breakfast included. We were not disappointed!

The hotel itself is amazing, full of character and history, there is a little book in the room which tells you all about it. Lovely grounds too.

Our room was great, comfortable and clean. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. Amazing breakfast. We thought it was one of the best we've had, my boyfriend was in heaven with unlimited fry up items! Dinner was also amazing! For what we paid we were expecting a lot less. It was like eating in a posh restaurant in London but not paying the ridiculous prices. We paid a little bit extra for steak on the second night and this was delicious.

Basically if you are considering a stay here, book it now!

Room Tip: We had room 47 in the main building. If you are looking to stay in the main section of the house the...

Attended as a wedding photographer in January 2013, so didn't actually stay in the hotel. It was freezing outside, so the couple didn't have any outdoor shots. My wife and I did however have a plate of nachos in the bar, which was nice.

The wedding took place in the orangery, which is stunning.

Had a reunion meal with friends and decided to have bed and breakfast as well. Very enjoyable stay. Lovely grounds and hotel, in an ideal spot. Food was excellent. Thankfully the weather was great so we could sit outside!

three days & two night break. enjoyed our stay very much & price was comparable with a premier inn locally. minor problem with first bedroom was quickly rectified by staff who helped us to a different room. staff friendly and helpful, room service food good as well as afternoon tea, breakfast as most hotels. swimming pool good, grounds lovely. would use this hotel again.

Staff were amazingly helpful. We needed blue milk for our baby and staff went to the local town to buy some for us. All the other staff were friendly and couldn't do enough. Hotel was clean, and breakfasts were amazing. Large choice on offer from cereal to cooked and again if you needed anything, the staff were always happy to find what you wanted. The swimming pool was brilliant. Was lovely and warm and son enjoyed the water in a lovely quiet and calm environment. The only downside was there is no family changing but staff happy for us to walk back to the room. The grounds are amazing and beautiful. Made for a lovely walk In the morning. The hotel is well situated by a motorway junction allowing us to visit Bristol, weston super mare and bath. Would highly recommend and will be visiting again thank you Tortworth for a lovely few days. Really made our break!

Stayed here twice just recently price was the best thing about it! First time they "didn't know" that the north bound exit of the M5 was closed and you had to drive 20 miles to get back to the south bound exit - really? Second time, arrived early Sunday afternoon looking forward to nice, relaxing afternoon by making use of the leisure facilities - not much chance. Queue to check in 30+ people - a graduation party. Fine but no notice to guests who were not part of the function. You can imagine the pool, jacquzzi, steam room and sauna were rammed and the changing room looked horrendous. Dining room is extremely lovely but the Sunday roast was worse than any cheap pub carvery. You can imagine the queues in the morning for breakfast - so didn't get any. I did email the hotel but they had a good excuse for everything - but they did offer me 25% off next stay umm. I honestly think that when booking on line the hotel should mention events like these so you have the choice to consider and weigh up the price versus the potential disappointment with such vast numbers. Ah well.

Beautiful entrance and surroundings. Very nicely decorated inside and very tidy. Staff are fairly good but the food is terrible. £19 for the ribeye, medium rare. The ribeye was smaller than the half tomato on the same plate, and it was well done, not rare. I'd have sent it back but it took 45 mins to get to me in the first place. Rustic chips were just frozen chips just a little overdone, drinks prices are ok but someone managed to add 2 glasses of wine of my tab by mistake. Rectified easily enough but it's a simple process to be making mistakes on tbf. Breakfast spread is nice but the sausages are poor quality.
