Visited Sunday 22/7/13 - Have Lived in York most of life and in the past always had good meals at the New Inn, However have not been in the last months and thought it would be a good place to go for Sunday Lunch!! on arrival the car park was empty, with one couple sitting outside who had just ordered. Inside were 2 people eating and a few people drinking at the bar. The staff were friendly and welcoming, but restaurant was dark and cold. We ordered one meal and one Sunday lunch, after 40 mins of sitting in the dark our meals arrived......cold apart from the pie straight out of the oven and the potatoes. when the waitress came back I advised her that the food was cold, she was unsure how this had happened!! after a further 15 mins the food was returned with fresh gravy. The potatoes were dried up and chips were like crisp more of a choking hazard than enjoyable. the beef was dried like leather and the veg luke warm. I advised the staff it was not much better but they were not interested and just left us to it but had managed to turn the lights on by this time. Should have refused but needed to eat something and complaining had got us no where.......Never again......not worth the drive out,
