“Central for York and Leeds, one of the few plus points, :-(”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2013

Even with a refurb, this will still look like a a hospital build in the seventies.
Receptionist was brutally unfriendly, cracking a smile would not hurt.
Food was expensive, which is why we ate out, breakfast, lunch and dinner!
Bar was nothing more than a square room with a few chairs dotted about, hard to relax in.
The room was large, alright for a family of 4. But very dated and grubby. The pool was the best part of the visit. Warm and empty, had it to ourselves. Cleaners were nice though!
Very close to a busy road - typical noise level.

Its such a shame such a large hotel was so empty, having said that its not surprising. The hotel is so out dated. When we entered the room it was like stepping back into the 70s. They have started a refurb program and a leaflet in the room said we could ask to see the show room but when we asked we were told we couldnt did quite understand why. We didnt find the room cold at all like other people have stated if any thing we were too hot and had to open the window during the night. We did find that you could hear every that went on in the corridor and in the next room to you. We ate in the restaurant and was the only people in it. The food was very hot and most enjoyable although there was little selection on the menu. The staff were very helpfull and friendly thoughout our stay

Was there for 5 days. I really cannot believe some of the reviews people have gave about this Hotel.
Of course the rooms were cold,we are having one of the coldest easrer in YEARS .All you had to do { I did } was to approach a member of staff, tell them your room was cold and you would have been provided with an extra heater, making a great difference .
As for being run down, it's not that bad and it is in the process of being renovated, Looking good as well.
The room we were in was very clean the bed was comfortable and it was quiet. The shower did not work but the bath filled up in a couple of minutes, no problem.
The food was exellent, so good some of our party went back for seconds. as for the staff they were really friendly and helpful.
I honestly could'nt fault the Quality Hotel. GREAT value for money.
My only gripe is { the entertainment } OMG!!!!!!!!!!! Needs an upgrade as well :)

Room Tip: As far as I know, most rooms are bright and sunny {when it's shining}

We stayed friday , saturday and sunday we love this hotel you would struggle to get better value anywhere else. The staff are lovley , Claire the restaurant manager claire shes lovley nothing to much trouble for her and her staff, louise and brian and all staff so pleasent. we have stopped at this hotel 6+ times at least and its now in the middle of a refurbishment which the staff are very pleased about . We had a family room lovley and big , if you want lovley staff, very clean rooms , good food AND VALUE FOR MONEY I RECOMNEND MY SECRET HOTEL (cats out the bag now lol)THE QUALITY HOTEL SELBY .

Room Tip: We always book a family room for the space you pay a bit more but worth it

We stayed for four days at the hotel, the food was good, and plentiful. The staff were friendly, and the bar/lounge area comfortable. The towel rail in the bathroom was broken and had the fuse removed. Fortunately we are a hardy couple and it did not bother us. Corridors were warm except for the staircases which had large areas of glass and impossible to heat adequately. A notice in the bedroom stated that the hotel was currently being refurbished, and we have no reason to disbelieve them. The coach company charged £119 for the holiday and I think that we got good value for money.
