“A hotel you can be confident in recommending”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2011

Selected at random when looking for a dog friendly hotel near Coventry we could have not made a better selection. Superb welcome if given a little too much information. The room was to a certain extent corporate in decor but everything was clean and in good working condition which is more than some others provide. Christmas parties were in full swing and although other guests wanting to eat still had the full menu presented - if the staff were a little confused as to where it was served. The food was fresh and flavoursome if a little traditional.
Although the parties we're in full swing we were not disturbed so that too was a plus. Will definately stay there again

Had a 1 night stay for company xmas party . Lovely imposing hotel in great location . Rooms a little bit shabby. No shower curtain in bathroom (hooks were there but had been removed and not replaced.) Cracked tiles in bathroom and cracked coffee cups in room. Lovely grounds. Just be carefully in room 419.if you have a shower.you will have very wet bathroom

We recently celebrated my husbnad's 65th birthday at the restaurant at this hotel. The table was ready when we arrived, beautifully laid in a wonderful setting and we were able to place some balloons on the table. and scatter talbe confetti. We had pre-dinner drinks and were shown to our table. We were given a round table which was ideal as all family could see and hear whatever anyone said. We ordered our meals and were certainly not disappointed with the quality, quantity or speed at which our food came out of the kitchen.
All starters, main courses and desserts were wonderful and we had many different items. The food was presented beatifully and the flavours were exceptional.
The staff were friendly and even did my husband a special dessert decorated for his birthday. The whole experience was wonderful and we had a memorable evening. I would certainly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting to have a very special celebration.

Room Tip: We didn't stay as we live within 5 miles.

I booked my one night stay on the web- I booked a double bed room. On arrival I was given a twin room- not a big issue. No drinking water in the room - I would expect that for £93 a night. Had to ring for manager as the air con unit was very noisy, had to ring twice. Was told sorry can't do anything as no rooms available. No reduction offered for a sleepless night. The accommodation is well and truly overpriced. I have stayed at several places and can say this - the rate should be no more then £50. Watch out for room 206 - noisy air con unit

Room Tip: avoid room 206

The room was great, comfortable bed and pillows, spotlessly clean, tea and coffee facilities and at £65 B&B for 2 it was 5 star plus. Great restaurant or bar food which looked great and the breakfast was brilliant, staff lovely. We booked for the location for NEC and it was perfect.

I stayed at the Manor Hotel the evening before a conference at the National Motor Cycle Museum. Check in was a bit of a 'faff' as the room had been booked for me and the receptionist wasn't quite sure if the room had been paid for or not (it had) which resulted in an unnecessary delay at check in, however, the lady was very apologetic. The room I was allocated was right at the other end of the hotel and was well proportioned and clean, the bed was comfortable. The food in Houstons was good but ironically I was with 2 Americans from Chicago and they had never heard of the Chicago Spinach dip on the menu :-). I didn't eat breakfast in the restaurant the following morning. Overall, I think the hotel is slightly over-rated and while the outside is very impressive, the interior decor is very dated and let's the overall appearance down. Staff were friendly and attentive.

Room Tip: make sure you're not allocated a room right at the end of the left-hand side corridor and don...
