picked a great venue for our wedding, simply put it was perfect, fantastic food, rooms, and venue, the hotel manager and all his staff were great, apart from one person, Cara the wedding planner, chasing money prior to our wedding that had already been paid, she didn't check with accounts prior to chasing us, we did receive a apology from her, and then she stated she and her staff would build up a great rapport with us and our guests on our big day. she failed to do this, but her staff did. never once greeted us or our guests, never spoke to anybody at breakfast, in fact walking past our guests without even a good morning, I would definitely recommend the fell as a wedding venue, but please make sure the wedding planner is not involved.

This lovely hotel has a beautiful setting, friendly staff, good food and colourful stylish interior, and guests can also use the Devonshire Spa which is a few miles down the road opposite the (much grander, but more expensive) Devonshire Arms. We had a very enjoyable night here and will surely return.

Recommended: Eggs Benedict for breakfast, and Malham for walking...

My wife and I attended (23rd Nov) my Nephew's wedding and we were thoroughly impressed with every aspect of our experience, the bedroom, the canapes & the breakfast couldn't have been improved. The staff were so helpful and everything went without a hitch.
The actual ceremony was first class and very tasteful and the wedding reception food was first class, piping hot and served with immaculate professionalism.
Thank you for a really enjoyable experience.

We had stayed twice at the Devonshire Arms, Bolton Abbey and knew of the Fell from a daughter who had made a brief stop there. We spent six nights there and found all the staff bar one attentive and ready to help in any way possible. Our room was a side one, not facing Burnsall bridge but comfortable and nicely equipped.
The problem was the dining room, where the dinner menu was unchanged throughout our stay including the soup which remained the same. One day we had lunch instead of dinner - still the same. Breakfasts were fine.
But that view across to Burnsall! We'll be back but not for a lengthy stay

Room Tip: Try for the front overlooking the Wharfe.

My husband, myself and daughter stayed two nights. What a beautiful looking building and ample car parking. We were welcomed by friendly staff. Our en-suite room (number 8) was beautifully decorated. It was exceptionally clean which is praise in itself as we are 'neat freaks'! The double bed was not only large but the mattress was so comfy, the the pillows were soft and the linens felt of high quality. The en-suite had a bath and shower. There were complimentary products to be used. The towels were brilliant, they were soft, fluffy and absorbant. The room itself had plenty of hanging space, tele, dvd, kettle, hairdryer and a gun safe! The food was lovely, hot and tasty. Although surrounded by sheep I didn't let that put me off - I had the mutton and it was delicious! The actual wedding went very well. The staff ralllied around and swiftly and seamlessly rearranged rooms inbetween. The wedding service was romantic with the view behind. The food was delicious and presented to a high standard. The staff were fantastic and never for one moment looked or appeared flustered. Every room I encountered was decorated to a high standard from the skirting boards to the furnishings, beautiful. As our wedding party took over the hotel I popped in each room and although each was similar, each was different but equally well presented. It was an idyllic location for a romantic wedding.

Room Tip: Room 5 & 11 have a separate lounge area that can be made up to accommodate more sleeping arrange...

We attended a wedding held at this hotel and decided to stay the night. When we went to be we had to phone reception and ask them to investigate a loud intermittent buzzing noise coming from downstairs. We were informed that this was due to the kitchen fans which they could not switch off, they were also unable to move us to a different room.

I was awoken by this noise repeatedly during the night, when I complained once again at checkout they acted surprised and said only 'Very sorry about that' but still wanted full price for the room.

The hotel is extremely expensive and does not provide a room in which you can actually sleep, I would consider this a basic requirement for a hotel.

Room Tip: Avoid room 6.

A party of ladies arrived full of expectations for a high quality afternnon tea and what we got was so disappointing. Where were the china teacups and teapots? The sandwiches (3 only) were uninspiring: one smoked salmon, one processed ham with one rocket leaf and one processed cheese and chutney; the "scone" could have been two doughy biscuits sandwiched together with a smear of jam and cream (I would certainly not have served it in my house) and the cake (1 only) was a small square of tray baked jam and cream sandwich. Without exception we left feeliing very unhappy to have paid such a high price for food of such poor quality. Never again!
