“Sink hole--Hawiyat Najm Park--On Muscat -Sur route”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

I drove on this route for the 4th time in the last 8 months and I find now the routes for attractions and directions are well marked.
I was able to spot the "hawiyat Najm Park" quite easily. Visited the so called "sink hole".
There is nothing unusual about this place nor is it an exciting attraction.

“An Oddity Well Worth the Visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

If you are on the main highway from Muscat to Sur this sink hole is well worth the diversion. As previous writers have said just follow the national park signs. Difficult to describe but it looks to me as though it was a cave at one time with the roof finally collapsing. Walk down steps fifty feet or so and paddle in the warm fluorescent water. After this pleasant stop do keep on the coast road to Fins and beyond where the beaches are wonderfully isolated.

“Great stop en route to Wadi Shab”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

The sink hole is located in the Hawiyat Najm Park. Coming from Muscat take the Dibab turn off and drive parallel to the highway. You will see signs for the park. The park is just a fenced off area with the sink hole in the middle. The water was really warm and when you get in little fish start eating nibbling on your toes (didnt quite enjoy that). The swim was really refreshing and we met some local kids who showed us where we could jump off one of the rocks (about 4 metres high). We only spent around half an hour there but this is a great stop if you are driving from Muscat to Wadi Shab or Sur. Dont get straight back on the highway but drive along the coastal road until a village called Fins. Very nice drive.

“Well worth the drive”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2012

Bimmah Sink hole (also known as Dibab Sink hole, as it is nearer Dibab Village than Bimmah) is one of those Omani attractions that is not really close to anything, but well worth mustering the energy to drive to. As you aproach the site, on the coast road off of the main highway, look for the signs for the National Park as there are not many signs for Sink hole. Whilst it is essentially a huge hole in the ground, the water is beautifully clear and really warm. Most locals will stand at the top and look down, before moving on. Don't waste your visit, get into the water, experience the fish nibbling on the dead skin of your feet, the warm relaxing water and the constant feeling that at any minute a loch ness type monster is going to appear and gobble you up! When we visited there were other Brits that wore swimming shorts and bikinis but we decided to go in fully clothed as there were a lot of locals looking on, but it's individual choice. There are "changing and toilet facilities" at the front of the gated park, but the toilets are the hole in the ground type and the facilites were not great so we decided to get changed in our car. We didn't take food but if you do take a picnic there is very little shelter at the top of the sinkhole. There are however loads of spots on the beach that you can pull into and have your own intimate spot. The sink hole is well worth driving to, whether it be from Sur or Muscat, or on the way back from another attraction. The park is nothing much, but the sink hole and the coastal spots are simply devine.

“An interesting pool of water?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2012

The Omanis seem to love visiting this site--however, although it may be geologically interesting, it is now rather just a park with a pool of water to look at....
