“Couldnt ask for more”

This was our second visit and again we were not dissappointed. We booked the endulgence package which included 4 x dinners on the beach and 2 x 1hr massages each. Happy hour at the bar was always worth while with the Bobby and Jack show always different. Breakfast daily was amazing and the pancakes were my favorite. The jams were all home made and went beautifully on the hot pastries. Special touches included a welcome drink and cool washer on arrival, turn down service each night and a differnt oil burner waiting for us each night.
On our first visit we exchanged money at the airport which was the best exchange however on the most recent visit we found the money exchangers in the street to offer a better rate, and there lots to choose from so make sure you check them out. We went to the newest shopping center that has the bank in it and found the exchanger to be competitive and also found the duty free shop to be cheaper than the other larger one across the road, we shopped for Baileys and Beer. We went on a 4 hour tour in a local taxi and he took us to all the sites which included the local Bartic shop, picked up some great gifts. Went up in the cable car with amazing views.

Room Tip: We stayed in the pool side rooms both times and they were excellent our friends stayed in the beach...

We read the previous reviews and based on that booked and stayed in the hotel for 5 nights. The cost was nearly £1200. The breakfast was good with homemade jams and bread and fresh juices however it did get a bit same same after 5 days. Our room was great, however the hotel has a policy were it only changes the bed sheets every 3 days, which I find a little strange. You have to request to have it changed daily. The hotel staff are all smiles and very friendly, however I think some of the staff service skills need polishing. Numerous times if you requested more than one thing at a time they forget the rest and delivered just the first thing you asked for. On one occasion I asked for a new cup from one of the servers and when she brought it over it had a insect in it. So instead of taking it back, she blew into it until the insect flew away and handed me the cup. This is obviously not the standard of service I expect nor probably what the owner wants from his staff. Internet access was infuriating aswell. Because of the system they use and the password that needs to be inserted you end up having to put in the password 4 or 5 times a day on your device. So If you expecting important emails to your device and they haven't come through it may be because you've been logged off. And the password they provide is different for every device and is long and obscure. I don't know why they have such a stupid setup for their wifi access as it just inconvenient and annoying for the guests. I lost 20 minutes a day trying to regain access. I think the owner has made some nice touches to the hotel and if your interested in lots of friendly hi's and how are you's from the hotel staff then they might win you over. But I look at complete service and sadly it falls way short of the £250 per day tariff.

We have just returned from a wonderful week in Casa del Mar.First of all I want to say: the staff is just excellent!Everybody is extremely friendly and helpful.We had a saeview studio which was very nice,the breakfast is really very good.You can chose between so many things that you need 2 weeks and still haven't tried everything.The pool is nice, there are more than enough sunbeds.The beach is nice and clean. We will certainly come back!

We stayed at Casa Del Mar for Christmas 2012 and decided to return for New Year 2013/14, The hotel was as expected the Service was second to non, with the very friendly staff, throughout the hotel.

We had some great nights around the Pool Bar, the New Years Eve Party, however was not what we would of expected from Casa, and was sadly a let down for such a great hotel.

The evening got off to a wonderful start with Pre Drinks around the very lively Pool Bar, but sadly things started to fade from there and gradually went downhill. The food for the New Years Eve Evening meal was was excellent, although the service was not as slick as normal and things started to dragged on.

The night was very badly let down by the Entertainment, the band just did not hit the right type of mood for the hotel and the guests, empty dance floors are not a good sign, it always pays to have a Plan B. This I am afraid never happened.

It was up to some of the guests to get the party going, by playing music from their own personal IPODS on a docking station. Simply not good enough for the reputation of this hotel.

At 12 midnight guest's where given a Chinese lantern to light up the sky, however again the quality of the lanterns was very poor with vast majority of them crashing into the sea, 2m in front of you, rather than floating into the Midnight sky and 2014. Again poor rehearsal's.

Overall a great hotel, and well worth a visit and stay, sadly for the Hotel management on Big Special night's you must do better, You have Great Staff, Great Food, Great Location, Poor choice of entertainment and no Plan B.

In my work we would simply say 7P's (Prior Planning and Preparation, Prevents, Piss Poor Performance).

Casa please don't get complacent with your well earned and respected reputation.

We chose to stay here for a week in November partly due to the wonderful reviews on Trip Advisor.
If you are wanting a 5 star resort and excellent service this is not the place for you. The charm of Casa del Mar is its size and position on a beautiful beach. The staff are friendly and willing however as another reviewer has said service needs polishing and this is the job of the management team who were very low profile during our stay. The reception team in particular need smartening up and were not notably friendly.
The food at La Luna was good. The restaurant can get booked up so to avoid disappointment reserve ahead if possible.
We choose small resorts in preference to anonymous 5 star resorts where you could be anywhere in the world. Casa del Mar fits that picture and with a little tweaking and better management it could be so much better.

We have just returned from 6 nights at Casa del Mar. This is one of the best hotels we have had the pleasure of staying at and will definitely return. Our sea view balcony suite was out of this world.
The hotel restaurant serves top quality food. I had read some reviews commenting the food was expensive however I have to disagree. Yes, you can eat for £10 at a restaurant in the town however it could not be compared to the top end ingredients, presentation and staff at Casa del Mar. A 3 course meal with good wine was less than half the price we would pay for an equivalent meal at home in the UK. Breakfast was also superb with buffet and menu to choose from. I can highly recommend the eggs florentine.
The pool bar is a very sociable area where you can choose from a large cocktail menu. The happy hour (which is 2 hours long) provided a great opportunity to chat to other guests, many of them who are regular visitors to Casa del Mar. We certainly hope to return.
I note a fellow reviewer commented the staff did not know them by name. I have to say that every single member of staff we encountered from reception, to spa, to grounds staff went out of their way to smile, say hello and be friendly. Perhaps they didn't know our name however they certainly knew us. The hotel and grounds are immaculate.
Congratulations to Tom and his team at Casa del Mar. You made our silver wedding celebration memorable and we hope to come back.

During our 6 days trip to Langkawi we've tried several hotels (Sheraton, Andaman, Casa del Mar), had a look at the 'Four Seasons'.

- Sheraton maybe is one of the worst hotels on this planet, don't stay there even it's free
- Andaman is far from everything (25 km drive to the next shop or restaurant) and full of kids
- Four Seasons is even further from everything plus it's completely overpriced for such a terrible beach

Therefore 'Case del Mar' is the winner of this contest, even it's really far from perfection - especially at the high price charged (approx. US$ 300/night).

The Pluses:
- location at a beautiful beach, near city center (go on the beach to find beautiful bars in the night)
- well maintained grounds
- boutique feel
- friendly staff
- cookies, nuts, tea, coffee and hot chocolate in the room; ice-water, fruits and sorbet served at the beach
- good breakfast (with rather small selection)

But at US$ 300/night there're also minuses:
- change of bed linen only on the 4th day (sorry, but that's hostel-like)
- enough towels only after you call (and then it takes very, very long)
- even the staff is friendly at some part professionalism is missing

I really hope they'll work on this points so we can return one day to have a perfect time.
