But the poor services, staff give bad impression (Maybe was due to Hari Raya no mood to work. ) Terrible food in their restaurant, swimming pool not well maintence and no pool towel provided. Boggy service were slow. Family who have younge kids and old folk like me, force to carried the the young kids and company my mum to work at least 15 minutes to uphill for dinner/b'fast. Very disappointed

The resort is located in a very beautiful place oversee the biggest man made lake in SEA. But the poor maintenance and lack of effort to provide standard resort services to guests really disappoint. Room flooring and furniture are not clean, infested by ants and spider web. The resort serves terrible food in their restaurant, tasteless and of no standard at all. The staff of the hotel is not profesional and give us a very bad impression of this place. All the facilities are badly in shape including the swimming pool etc. Activities such as cycling is not available because the bicycles are broken. Horrible service at such a potential place. Very disappointed.

Beautiful place (the lake). Badly managed resort. Room was runned down. Food was bad. Tea was bad. This resort have been around for 15 years and also won best lake resort in 2007. Unfortunately, this resort have been so poorly managed everthing looked like it'll fall apart anytime.

Stayed for 3 nights. The scenery from our chalet never ceased to amaze us. The changing light across the lake and the background sounds from birds and animals was so relaxing. Even when it rained it was beautiful. We went on the Birdwatching walk but to be honest we had more luck walking around the resort and spotted several different types of Hornbill. We also took the boat trip to the caves and waterfall - the trip was definitely worthwhile but you have to have others booked on the trip for it to go ahead. Breakfast was the best meal of the day, although as we were there during Ramadan evening meal was restricted to a buffet and unfortunately the food was not always as hot as we would have liked.
I would not say that everything at this resort is perfect - but if you are after relaxation and want to be close to nature then the scenery of the lake and the rainforest are spectacular.

...to relax and for excursions on the lake, in the jungle or bird watching. Marvelous nature with lots of birds (hornbills ! and others) inside the resort. Fantastic "value for cheap money" catering: breakfast buffet and dinner buffet with a variety of fish, meat, Indonesian kitchen, satay, hors dóevre and dessert. Only few mosquitoes in the evening, you can sit at your balcony watching nature, birds, iguans. Bungalows with ample space in the bath room and living room. Neat and clean pool, spa can also be recommended for massages. Recommendable are the excursions: boat trip, bird watching, etc.

We are a group of 17. We appreciated that Lake kenyir resort had upgraded our room from garden view to lake view without a charge due to our group booking. We would never regret of staying in Lake Kenyir resort with such a splendid lake view. We definitely will go back again :)

The staffs are all very polite and nice. We were having a problem of cutting a watermelon since there was no knife in the room. We just passed the watermelon to the staff. No doubt they had cut it for us and sent it to our room with a nice wrapping. We would like to give them double 'thumb-up' :D

Lake kenyir resort is large. They provided us a buggy car service. Sometimes it was only one buggy car serving the whole area of resort. This might lower down the satisfaction due to waiting for long time. But the buggy car driver is very kind and polite. They would just willing to wait for us if we were leaving something behind, without rushing us so that they could pick up other tourists .

Overall, Lake kenyir resort and spa gives us a nice service and memorable experience. :)

What can I say except.....THANK YOU and WE'LL BE BACK!

We booked 7 villas at this resort for a family gathering from 4 - 6 June 2011. There were 30 of us including children.

When we arrived around 4pm, we were promptly taken to the lobby by a few buggies. 4 out of 7 booked villas were ready. The other 3 were being cleaned as the hotel was running a full house. The reception staff were very apologetic and the staff manning the free welcome drinks counter kept on replenishing our drinks. At 5pm, the other 3 villas were ready. Our 7 villas were located next to each other in 'Kenyir Village'. Even though we booked a garden view villa, our villas had a bit of the lake view. All the 7 villas were in excellent condition and looked exactly like what was shown on the resort website.

We had dinner at Tembat Restaurant. The food was so-so but the beef burger was excellent. After dinner we booked the karaoke room for 2 hours at RM150. The karaoke room was big enough to accommodate all 30 of us.

The rest of our stay there was good. I sent a pair of jeans for laundry and it came back on time, just as promised. The buggy boys, the waiters and the reception staff treated us like family members.

On our last day there, my father collapsed from asthma and heart problem. The staff were very prompt in extending help. Mr Vivek called up a few clinics in Kuala Berang but none of the doctors were willing to travel to the resort to treat my dad. The resort offered to send my father to a clinic in Kuala Berang, but my father was too weak to be transported without an oxygen pack. An ambulance from Hospital Hulu Trengganu was promptly called in. It took the ambulance about an hour to reach the resort. Mr Vivek and Ms Amy made sure the ambulance climbed up the narrow lanes all the way to the villa (which was a first) to fetch my father.

My father was transported to Hospital Hulu Trengganu and then to the Intensive Care Unit of Hospital Nur Zahirah in Kuala Trengganu. Ms Amy and another female staff visited at the hospital (which is about 80km from the resort) and kept calling my mother for updates on my father.

The resort is not only beautiful, but it has the most caring and responsible staff. We will definitely go back to the resort and recommend it to families and friends alike.
