“Not up to Standard”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013

Just had a 6 day tour with Lochs and Glens....must say not very impressed with any aspect of the trip. Been to Fort William with same company which was excellent compared to this tour.Firstly the hotel had supposedly been renovated 2 years ago????? Who by? the local blind school.? decor was of very low standard..badly hung wallpaper, the windows in the dining room had 1/2 inch gap in the frame...Housekeeping was abysmal, yes bed made every day but litter was left on the floor for the whole of our stay...probably still there now!.The bathroom was not cleaned i.e the bowl or shower/bath, towel rail was old and rusty..But if you pay europeans peanuts you get sub standard results..the food was acceptable at best but the choice very limited ....found a hair in a salad but no action taken by management...overall very very dissappointed with everything to do with this tour..days out were good but once back at the hotel you are stuck there because no other options to go anywhere..unless you take a 12 mile bus ride to Pitlochry..so sorry to say not impressed at all would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy.

Room Tip: Book into some other hotel....this one is one to miss!!!!

Just had a Scottish holiday coach tour with Lochs and Glens to Loch Tummel , from start to finish, this was as good a holiday you could wish for , Excellent accommodation , we had the best room overlooking the Loch , g8 food , friendly staff , good entertainment every night and BOB , a coach driver , second to none ,( you need to be on some of the roads we travelled on ) , very informative, without being over powering and more than helpful on the trips. the whole experience was well worth the money

Room Tip: we had room 10 , ground floor right by the Loch , but rooms on the first floor overlook the Loch

the hotel is very good value for money, room clean with tv, tea etc. room maintainance first class.
food both breakfast and dinner very good with superb service, all menu changes carried out without any fuss .Entertainment very acceptable but fairly basic ranging from country to Scottish.
grounds very pleasant complete with evening routine of feeding baby ducks. All in all a fine first time coach / hotel holiday . would do it again..

Room Tip: ask for even number rooms ,have better view

Our first trip with Lochs and Glens Holidays. We had a brilliant driver called Tony who was always cheerful. The staff in the hotel were very professional. The restaurant food and service was excellent. Our rooms were on the ground floor and they were spotlessly clean . There was twin beds in each of our rooms - one room was singly occupied (at no extra cost) We had nice views over the Loch from our rooms. All of us were delighted with our stay. We shall certainly be going on another Lochs and Glens holiday.

Room Tip: Rooms 4, 8 and 11 had views of the loch - they were on the ground floor Very quiet

Our first time at this hotel.
We had room 302 which had a fantastic view of Loch Tummel
Room was very good.
Bathroom was poorly ventilated, shower very small and poorly lit,
Housekeeping was first class.
Restaurant, food and service were great as was the bar.
FRESH coffee still missing, I think that today's more educated taste in coffees with the various coffee companies. INSTANT coffee is no longer acceptable.

The trips were good,
One change I would make is on the Scone Palace trip, going out of the way to drive past the largest?/tallest?/oldest? hedge, which cannot even be seen whist driving by is a waste of time and fuel. also reduce the time spent in Perth.
An extra hour or two at Scone Palace would be much more enjoyable and better use of time.

On the return journey, to enable a driver change over we were dropped at a transport cafe with limited facilities, close to Proctors Coaches depot for 45 minutes; 45 minutes later we then stopped for a further 45 minutes at Ferrybridge with all the usual choices of a service area.

I understand the need to change drivers with their working hours etc, but why can't the relief driver be changed in Proctors depot or waiting in the transport cafe.
This would save a precious 45 minutes on a long 12 hour return journey home.
This isn't an unusual event as we had the same thing last December

However negative comments apart it was another most enjoyable Lochs & Glens holiday.

Both my friend have just stayed at Loch Tummel for the second time. Our driver - Ian - was super and nobody could have wished for a better one. We had excellent rooms (both of us had twin rooms and no single supplement to pay). Food was up to the standard of all Lochs and Glens Hotels with a good choice at both breakfast and dinner. Excursions were wonderful and all I can say is I'm so glad that we had the opportunity to stay at Loch Tummel. Look forward to another holiday with L & G soon.

Room Tip: We were on the first floor overlooking the rear of the hotel but spent little time in rooms so it di...

Lochs & Glens offer good value half board holidays with local pick up, travelling to the Loch Tummel Hotel and other hotels. Our holiday to Loch Tummell included very good excursions each day in a comfortable coach.

The hotel appeared to be clean and well maintained with helpful staff but unfortunately the mattress in our room was uncomfortable and had seen better days. The breakfasts were disappointing and quite basic whilst the evening meals were better but variable.

Overall our holiday was good value and enjoyable so we would consider going on another Lochs & Glens holiday.

Room Tip: The Loch view rooms are nice, but the ground floor rooms can be close to the entertainment and so ca...
