It was my first time to travel to Indonesia. We went there for a vacation since our last holiday was quite a long time back. A friend booked the hotel and ferry going to bintan for 3 people. The ferry ride from Singapore to Indonesia took about an hour, and the bus ride from bintan ferry terminal to the resort took roughly 15 minutes. We spent around S$300 in total. We got a deluxe room with 2 single beds. If you are expecting an exceptional room, then this isn't it. The room was good for the price considering that it we were there on a peak season. The room had the essentials: wardrobe, safety deposit box, television, table and a chair. If you search for pictures in the internet, that's exactly it. It also had a balcony and the bathroom had a tub (not all hotels have tubs, right). The resort is quite big. There are a number of activities that you can do: golf, tennis, billiards, table tennis, ATV, banana boat, etc. You can also rent a buggy for S$30 for 1 hour. What's the cons? Price and assortment of food. You can easily spot 3 main restaurants in the resort: Kopi O (mostly known for buffet) just below the lobby, Miyako (Japanese) beside main resto, and Rice (Western) beach front. Food was good but prepare to pay S$20 - S$35 for a meal. Another minus is the fact that they close the pool at 6.00pm. So you can't do night swimming. They should probably keep the pool open until later so most people can enjoy swimming at night. This resort, well yeah, is recommended. But they should make adjustments to keep up with travellers.

We stayed in Angsoka Villa which is probably the best villa in Bintan Lagoon Resort. The stay was one of the best experiences of my life.

Positive aspects: It was a huge two-storey villa with three bedrooms, huge living room area, kitchen, private swimming pool and landscape around the villa. The villa was facing the beach. We had great fun playing in sea water and then jumping into the swimming pool. Another best part was the buggy, each villa was provided with one buggy which can carry four people at a time. It is great fun taking buggy around the resort and exploring the resort. The rooms were clean and the service was good. We cooked our own food in the kitchen which had all the cutlery. You can access beach and your private swimming pool anytime of the day. The balcony and the bedrooms had a great view of the sea.

Negative aspects: I can't think of any! It is probably expensive but we were able to get a corporate deal which significantly reduced the price.

Room Tip: If you are visiting Bintan Lagoon Resort and if you got budget stay at Angsoka Villa. it's a gre...

Hi All! Me and my Fiance decided to go to Bintan for a quick getaway and to have a romantic celebration for his birthday. After much research we decided to settle on Bintan Lagoon Resort and oh boy! We didn't regret settling on this resort..!! Anyways we checked in on the 30th April 2013 and checked out the next day. Here's the details..

30th April 2013.
Reached Bintan lagoon resort ferry terminal. very accesible as the resort is on the same island as well.. After immigration clearance, hopped on the shuttle bus and within minutes we reached the lobby and it was only around 11am or 12pm (Indo time). Check in was supposed to be around 3pm Indo time but we're lucky we only had to wait for about 30mins for our room. Also, I had sent a special request for a complimentary cake to surprise my Fiance.

So, while waiting, we were approached by Mr Jonny (Public Relations). He encouraged us to sign up as a Journeyful member to get great perks & discounts for their activities and restaurants. He was very very helpful and a great guy! He was always ready to offer help and went the extra mile to accomodate to the guests. We had a good chat and asked him some questions abt Bintan and he brought us around the resort, gave us a tour and telling us useful information. After the quick guide, he checked us into the room. we got the same level as the lobby and near to the lobby as well. (Which we find convenient). He even asked if the room is fine for us. We agreed on that room because its convenient. We got the deluxe seafacing room and it was soooo cosy!!!!!! didnt want to leave the room at all... time was slow and we had lots of time to laze around and really relax... Mr Jonny arranged a romantic dinner for us by the sea. and by night, we were attended by Ms. Valentina (another Public Relations). Such a nice lady as well, took us on the buggy to the seaside restaurant named "Rice Beachfront Bar and Dining". When we reached, we were greeted by friendly waiters/waitresses and ushered us to our table. It was nicely set up by them.

Price wise : Its in SGD. and it ranges from about SGD25 onwards for steak. Prices are like in Singapore restaurants. Food was nice and quantity was more than enough for me. They made a birthday card for my Fiance as well! how sweet. It wasnt crowded on that night either. Probably due to weekday stay.

Massage is priced just like in SGD as well. 60minutes $60. There are a few places you can have your massage, might want to check with the reception. There's 2 massage huts facing the sea, which gives you a nice open ambience. If you prefer an air conditioned place, drop by Taman Sari spa. Very relaxing ambience. Whole body massage starts from $90 for 55minutes.

1st May
Breakfast buffet spread was delicious! they had chicken rice, curry, porridge, cereal, fruits, eggs live station where the chef fries the eggs for u, different types of breads, pancakes, sausage, turkey ham and much more. Afterwards, time to check out! Overall, we had an unforgettable stay.. away from the busy Singapore and slower time to catch up with our loved ones..

Once again, me and my Fiance would like to thank Mr Jonny and Ms Valentina for their wonderful help and accommodating to our needs throughout our stay in Bintan Lagoon Resort. May we meet again! ;)

This is not the first time I have been to Bintan. However, it is certainly the first time I had a wonderful experience. Bintan Lagoon Resort needs a real good facelift to majority of their villas. I have done my booking online and they do not have many photos of their villas so it always keep me in suspend until my sis-in-law showed me the photos she took during her stay last year end. To my surprised, I was totally disappointed the moment I step into the villa we were allocated on 17 May 2013. With the additional beds I paid for my family of 9 pax, it is certainly not valued for the money. Fortunately, we insist on our feedback and Hotel finally realized that they could provide an alternative solution to upgrade us to a bigger villa with the amount we are paying for the additional beds. We want to specially thanks Bobby (from Villa Operation), Johnny and Valentina (from We Care) for their help in this matter and their warm services & follow-ups to make our stay an wonderful experience for my family. We certainly will return to Bintan Lagoon Resort and its villa again.

Just spent two nights in this resort with friends. The hotel is spread out nicely, the staff were very friendly and the beach is absolutely fab u lous. There is a good selection of restaurants, the food isn't exceptional nor is it cheap. The rooms are disappointing, especially as I was upgraded on arrival, for no reason, they felt damp and are in need of a revamp.
The restaurant on the beach has the best food choices. Deluxe room for 1night was 200SGD, that included a buffet breakfast which was average, booked via hotelclub.com

Looking for a short getaway, Bintan is a great choice. This hotel however is not exactly the best hotel I've been to. My first encounter with this hotel is its horrible website. I could not book a room nr could I get information about the boat that goes directly to this hotel. No big deal as the Bintan Resort Ferry is easily bookable on line, but still this is where my frustrations began.
Second is the rooms are in serious need of updating. The walls had pen marks on it, the sheets had holes in them, There was no clock in the room, and the bathroom marble really needed to be replaced. There were some small updates, but it looked ridiculous compared to the rest of the room. I paid for an oceanview wich is really a view through the trees and the loading dock of the ferry. Beach access? well yes there is a bit of beach but most of it is taken up by the ferry termainal. And 22 Singapore dollars to go to Pasir Oleh Oleh? Really? On other islands I have paid 1/3 of that for the same amount of ride time to a town. And unless you want to eat at the hotel everyday, you have to take a taxi to go anywhere else to eat. So add 44.00 to your meal since that is the only way to get off the resort.

Good Points that gave it the 3rd star are the staff. They are very friendly and welecoming and eager to help. My husband was looking to go fishing and the staff helped get him I touch with someone to take him out. He had a fabulous time and made some new friends.
The pool is huge and nice as well. seems there are plenty of places to lounge or I was just there during a non busy time.

All in all it was a nice vacation, but I would not book this resort again.

Room Tip: Don't spend the etra money to get a room with a view of the ocean. NOt worth it

First time to Bintan Lagoon resort. We were looking for a short trip to take a break from our busy schedule. Managed to get 3 days off at a last minute notice and booked a 3D2N stay in Bintan Lagoon resort.

Our initial google check on Bintan Lagoon resort was not great as some of the reviews we saw were not good and we got a cheap price for the trip with the ferry trip included so we were just keeping our fingers crossed for a good holiday.

Guess what, we had a wonderful holiday!! The ferry brings you directly to the resort itself. It is a huge place with a nice long stretch of clean white sandy beach and green golf courses. Our room was the deluxe sea facing room with king size bed. The room itself was pretty neat and clean. It was large and spacious for both of us.Toilet was alright. Airconditioning was working very well. Good TV channel selections.
Breakfast buffet was included in our package and the food prepared was actually quite nice. There was a good selection of western and oriental dishes.

We had a good time relaxing at the beach. Water was quite clear. It was not too crowded over the weekdays. Absolutely what we were looking for to escape from the busy city life. Clean swimming pools and a leisure center with board games, billiards, archery and etc.

We ate at the Miyako and RICE restaurant. Miyako was alright. RICE was awesome. The lamb chop i had was delicious. Juicy and tender. Alcohol was pricey.

All in all, we enjoyed the trip maximally. Had a good time relaxing at the beach and using the facilities. A tip to you guys - do purchase some alcohol at the Ferry Terminal and bring it over as it will be cheaper that what they charge you at the resort.

Have fun!
