“Very poor hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012

I visited this hotel on a business trip to Monaco and would not recommend it. It is barely one step up from a youth hostel and is most definitely not 3 star. My disappointments included wine served from a box (in France, the home of wine!), a terrible buffet breakfast with jugs of tepid water insufficiently warm to brew tea, jugs of instant coffee and raw eggs with luke warm water to boil them in! The twin beds were so close together that you are forced to read the same book and the so called hairdryer fixed to the wall in the bathroom was the worst I have ever seen - you would be better blowing your own hair dry! All in all it was not a good experience.

We were quite impressed by is hotel. Got what we expected. The bed was a bit uncomfortable, however we had a nice stay. Good breakfast, very nice view from the roof. Quite close to the main train station when walking

Stayed here for 4 nights as a base for exploring Monaco. Brilliant location as everything is within walking distance. We explored the entire principality on foot. Yes, the hotel is at the top of a hill but using the train station as a cut through, you can go all the way from the port to the hotel via elevators and then a short walk up the road that the hotel is on and you're there. It is more than manageable.

The room was great. Two single beds pushed together but this isn't uncommon in Europe. Air conditioning worked great. There was also a mini bar fridge in the room which we used to chill our own drinks that we bought from the supermarket. Spare blankets and pillows if you need them. Large bathroom. We only had a handheld shower but it was over a large corner bath so this really didn't bother us at all.

Breakfast was the usual European continental style buffet - boiled eggs, meat, cheese, bread, pastries, cereal, fruit, yoghurt, coffee, fruit juice, etc. However, every morning that we had breakfast we had to ask for plates or spoons or more milk, etc. as they let things run out and don't replace them straight away as they don't keep a close enough check on it but apart from that it was good.

The panoramic terrace on the roof provides views out over Monaco. It's a must-see.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel and I would definitely stay here again when visiting Monaco.

We needed a hotel that was close enogh to walk to Monaco everyday.
Located just above the train station. Included with the hotel is good internet and a decent brekfast.
A grocery store near by is a big plus.
Rooms are basic, prices are better then down the hill. The roof top is a great place to see the area and have a few drinks BYO.

The room was ok but considering we asked for a queen bed but two single mattress pushed together this made for some very uncomfortable sleeping. The air con was good and the bath room was nice and updated.

Breakfast was amuzing as the staff on the weekend we stayed couldn't care less and it was every person for them selfs as to whom could find clean dishes.

Overal the location was good and everything was in walking distance as long as you dont mind the steep stairs and roads to get back to the hotel.

Overal it's a simple hotel for a quick stop over in Monaco. Can't expect to much for the price.

Due to some medical congress , my sister had to go to Monaco. As result , me and my husband decided to join her in this trip. We booked via booking .com i think , but the hotel was great.I had to say that was at the very top of Monaco (Beausoleil), so we had every day to climb till there. But also i have to mention that we discovered that every few hundred meters there are elevators (!!!!) in the street to take you upper level and each few meters , "defibrillators" or emergency cases .Breakfast was good, but narrow room for it , free wi fi in the room, friendly staff.( We traveled in march 2010, but Trip Advisor system shows juts till august 2011 behind in time )

Room Tip: With the golf view, is amazing to be in top of the hill and have a great view to the boats and yacht...

Nicely renovated rooms. Pillows could do with replacing or more available in room.
Bathroom large and clean but we only had a handheld shower over bath.
Breakfast wasn't restocked or tables cleared after use.
Unlimited wifi with great speed.
Up the hill but once we learnt to use train station as a short cut from water location very usable.
