“Very spacious rooms, lovely location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2011

We stayed here in a 2-bedroom apartment. It had two bedrooms, one with twin beds and an en-suite shower room, the other with twin beds (they can be pushed together, I think) and an en-suite bathroom (but no toilet). There was a cloakroom off the combined kitchen and sitting room. One of the bedrooms and the sitting room opened out onto a lovely terrace/balcony with view of a small lake. . All the rooms were very spacious. The kitchen had a fridge, microwave, hob, dishwasher, etc., but we had to go to the reception and ask for more plates and bowls, as there are very few dishes in the cupbords.

The rooms were fairly clean, although the rug in the sitting room looked as if it hadn't been hoovered for a while. The location itself is very quiet, but you should try and get a room on the top floor, as we had some small children running around in the room above ours, and that made quite a lot of noise.

The cloakroom was a bit strange, it just had a toilet and a small basin, but no mirror, no hooks, no towels or soap. There were plenty of towels in the other bathrooms, but the cloakroom looked a bit unfinished.

You can park right underneath the building that your room is in (there are several separate buildings along the water), but there is no lift. You have to be able to carry your bags up some stairs. There is a restaurant on site, which looks quite nice, but we didn't have time to try it. If you want to cook your own meals, you can buy food from a big supermarket, which is about 5 minutes away (you need a car).

Stayed here for 2 nights on a golf trip with 2 friends. Rooms are spacious and clean but not all have great views - mine was of the rooms in an opposite block. Air con not working and could not leave windows open because of the incessant nightly serenade of the bullfrogs!
No coffee/tea making facilities available unless in one of the larger suites - I had to ask for kettle etc and then just 2 teabags provided (no milk so took a cup full from the restaurant after breakfast).
We booked this hotel so that we could have a few drinks without having to drive after our evening meal but on the day we arrived (Sunday) the bar closed at 8pm and the restaurant never opened. We were also told that the restaurant would not be open on the Monday evening either because there were not enough people staying at the resort to warrant it opening!! This rather negated the reason for us staying here and we had to drive into Rennes for a meal and then couldn't even have a drink upon our return. Grrrr!

Fortunately the restaurant DID open on the Monday after all but we were disappointed that no English translation of it was available and the waitress, as helpful as she was, apologized for her poor English and also could not explain much. The standard of food was quite good but also expensive. Just one of my friends ordered the 'Gourmet' set menu which started with 'Amuse Bouche', this being Duck Foie Gras (which he hated) and it was served to all of us!

All of the staff that we encountered were very friendly and this hotel has great potential. I hope the management look more carefully at the little things which guests value so much...

Spent a night here sept 2010,only 4 star i could find. Rooms are suites.....very spacious with nice views. Eco type lodges on stilts.Restaurant was good.....slight fly problem....we were bothered throughout our meal in the evening (the doors are left open all day).Mentioned to staff who said 'we're in the country'.....this is the big apple compared to where i live so no excuse really.
Drinks at bar expensive.Checkout slow.Very busy place due to the golf course....though we were in ryder cup period so maybe busier than normal.
Suites have fridges, cookers, coffee makers etc etc but you need to bring coffee/tea....nothing provided.
Spa is shut on a tuesday.....guess what day we were there!
We'd stay again....and i rarely say that....we live in France and its hard finding a good place at a decent price, this is one so should be congratulated.
