“Beckington's secret (not for long, surely)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2013 via mobile

From the outside, you wouldn't believe what's behind the door of this contemporary designed refit of a village pub. As others point out, the wood burner was in full blaze and the staff were welcoming, attentive and well organised in offering their best.
My wife and I had visited on the Sunday evening and were being joined by our 3 (adult) children plus dog the following day. Having found out that it was a dog friendly venue, we booked a table the following evening so that the 5 of us could sit and enjoy a good selection of ales and wine plus a selection of food on offer.
What wasn't evident was that there were some very well designed accommodating bedrooms on the first floor, which the owner, Clive, showed us while visiting on Sunday evening. It surely won't be long before the narrow streets of Beckington will be busy with visitors to the pub.... Although parking could be an issue if the pub is at maximum capacity.

“Perfect in every sense”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

After a quick read of reviews I booked a table for my partners birthday. The owners made an amazing effort to make the night memorable and the chefs produced a fantastic plate of superbly cooked food for each guest.

Easily my new favourite place to eat in the area.

“Delightful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2012

We were visting friends and family over the Christmas period and thought we would give this place a try. We were dining with somebody who has a gluten free diet so attention to detail was important to us. We had a lovely table by the wood burning stove and the ambience was good with a real buzz about the place. The service was excellent, nothing being too much trouble and the food was wonderful, straight forward home cooked dishes that were reasonably priced. All in all a great experience.

“Excellent food, nice pub”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2012

Had a meal for a family of 4. Excellent speedy and attentative service, lovely cider, very welcoming. Outside looks really old, and inside is really new and trendy, but has a lovely old fire in the corner.
