“The perfect B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2014

Holbecks House is just the perfect B&B. We stayed in the large and very comfortable Gainsborough room with big windows looking out over the beautiful grounds. The en-suite bathroom is enormous and luxurious. We also had the use of the beautiful downstairs drawing room with a log fire and large, comfortable sofas where we very quickly felt at home.
Breakfast was delicious. The owners are friendly and hospitable and provide a first class service with very nice touches (wine glasses, fridge, wellies, umbrellas, maps, etc.).
All this made it the perfect B&B for us.

Holbecks is a great venue for corporate teams and groups up to ten people, in a way that does not seem to intrude at all on other guests' enjoyment. All who come seem to be bowled over by the views, the garden and the house. Their organisation’s leaders gain many browny points from their teams for choosing this as a venue for their learning work together. We have been running a series of day-long strategy, operational and problem-solving workshops and coaching here over 8 months and participants have loved coming from up to 2 hours away (this peacefulness is surprisingly close to the City). The setting is inspiring, the working spaces lovely and the service of Perry, Charlotte and team is warm and attentive. We have used the glorious lounge which is full of natural light, comfortable sofas and centred on a quietly crackling log fire. Everybody has loved the contrast with the usual dull, uniform hotel meeting room; and we could also have used the Boardroom layout of the elegant dining room. Flexibility of the venue has allowed us to work in the sun on the patio in the shade in the summer and kept us warm, refreshed and fed with high quality simple lunches in all seasons. As facilitators and coaches it has been a delightful experience, with the added bonus of great breakfasts and places to run, while Holbecks House itself allows our participants to escape their pressures to find a refreshed energy with which to focus, plan, problem-solve and learn together and go back to work renewed.

This is a beautiful house in lovely surroundings, but still close to the village and amenities. We stayed in the Gainsborough room, a spacious comfortable room with a massive bathroom. Our hosts were great and the breakfast is excellent. Highly recommended.

We stayed in this cottage over Christmas and what a fantastic holiday we all had. It was our first stay here and we couldn´t have wished for more. The cottage was far beyond our expectations and our two dogs loved their walks everyday in the grounds and surrounding fields.
Perry and Charlotte were excellent hosts and were always on hand if required. I managed to get a puncture one morning, but Perry soon supplied me with a pump and information on where to go for the repair.
Quite simply a truly superb week and a big thankyou to Perry and Charlotte - You deserve all the success that I am sure you will get.

We stayed in the Garden Flat over Christmas week and it was a real home from home. My response to walking into the sitting room was "Oh, this is lovely" and that first impression was carried through into the double bedroom, which was very pretty. The accommodation was light and spacious and very comfortable. I think the little touches like lamps already lit and supplies put into the kitchen made it extra welcoming. I will definitely recommend Holbeck House to friends and would love to visit in the summer to explore Sussex.

My uncle stayed in the gardeners cottage at Holbecks, it is such a lovely cottage which feels really homely. The host Perry is such a helpul down to earth man, you couldnt wish for a nicer person to be your host. I would definitely recommend staying at the cottage or even the house itself as that to is such a beautiful home.
