I've been on a number of trips over the last week with this company... Both 1 and 2 hour trips, and can't fault them. The office staff were polite and helpful with my questions about weather conditions / sea states and tide times etc.
The crew (Johnno, Owen on 1 hour, and Ann and Nathan on 2 hour) are very friendly and cannot do enough for you in terms of making sure you are comfortable, sharing local information and history, wildlife facts, and when we were lucky enough to encounter the dolphins (luckily enough on every trip we did!), other points of interest (eg baby seal) they made sure the boat was positioned so all on board could get a piccie.
On the 2 hour trip, Ann had more opportunity to tell us more about dolphins, not just in New Quay but around the world and the plight they can face, and you can see how passionate she is about her work, which is lovely. They also explained the code of conduct they adhere to in terms of routes and how they interact with any dolphins which is important so these fantastic creatures can continue to flourish in New Quay... In fact, the dolphins were so happy in our presence on one trip, they were bow riding us for nearly 10 minutes, along with a newborn!
All trips were run to schedule and their full time .. In fact, one went over, and you can tell the crew want you to have the best experience you can.
Many people say you can see the dolphins from the wall at New Quay, and yes you can, and I've spent many a happy hour on the wall with my camera, but the real bonus of the boat is you can possibly see them closer, at their level rather than off the top of the wall, and you can actually hear their clicks and squeaks which is just magical, and as for the bow riding... Wow, what can I say? One of the best experiences ever!
Thank you Ermol crews, and we will be back to see you soon!
