I have been to this restaurant several times during the last decade and have never been disappointed. The Lecces have set up a really great place here. It does exactly what I expect from a great restaurant: It reflects its location in basing itself on the local traditional food (in this case of the Sila mountains) and adding a personal, modern and international note to it, all of this done with professionality.
The dishes are refined and consist mainly of mushroom and meat dishes, also using local vegetables and grain crops. Compared to most Calabrian restaurants the dishes are rather small, which in my opinion is a good thing as it allows you to sample several of the rather heavy dishes (for instance carpaccio of [raw] mushrooms) without filling up immediately. You will be served an aperitive in the "wine cellar" (they have a nice collection indeed) featuring sparkling wine, ham (usually pata negra) and some other small treats. Also the patisserie is just great.
One gets the impression that everyone who works there really likes what they are doing, both owners and staff. The restaurant is nicely decorated and situated in or close by the Sila national park, in the midst of greenery.
Of course, all of this has its price, but considering the quality this is perfectly fine for me.
