“AMORE”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2013

What more can I say, we LOVE Casa Moricciani and the entire Moricciani family. My husband and I were lucky enough in 2011 to stay at Agriturismo Cretaoile di Luciano Moricciani, owned and operated by the Moricciani family. Our weeklong stay was pure heaven, we were fortunate to be staying during the vendemmia (grape harvest) on the farm. We knew we would return. Last month we returned along with 2 other couples and rented the full lower floor of Casa Moricciani for 4 of us, while the other couple stayed in another property in Castelmuzio the Moriccianis own, called Il Nido (The Nest). All properties have their own unique charm all due to the love and dedication the family brings to their business. We have traveled all over the world and have never experienced better care than being in the hands of Isabella, Carlo and Luciano and their entire family. In the past year they have added a wonderful addition to their staff, Carlotta, who we very much enjoyed meeting, she is carrying on in the same tradition and was a much needed extra resource for all of the guests.

Casa Moricciani is breathtakingly beautiful. It is cozy and comfortable and decorated with the highest standards. During our last few nights the weather had really started to cool down, we loved gathering around the fireplace and enjoying Cretaoile wine and bread dipped in their wonderful olive oil. The kitchen is marvelous, the view over the Val D'Orcia incredible. We did not want to leave.

Once again we left our hearts in Italy, we are planning our next trip, hopefully next year.

Room Tip: All rooms are charming and unique.

Dear Seattle52,

Once you have worked by our side during the vendemmia, you have certainly become as family! What fun we have had with you on your two trips to Tuscany, and also with your dear friends who you brought with you to Casa Moricciani and Le Casine di Castello this past year. Grazie mille!!!!!

We hope so much to see you again soon, and continue the pampering and the friendship!

Hugs to you and your family and dear friends,

Spent a week in the Villa - 6 adults - no one wanted to leave. The "home" is beautifully decorated - well stocked - views are spectacular. Isabella and Carlos take incredible care of their guests. We had pre planned our itinerary for the week but once we got to the Villa and had our meet and great with Carlotta we ended up changing our itinerary to do many of the "off the beaten track" trips. Chef Alessandro came and cooked dinner for us (a must - able to relax and enjoy the beautiful setting of the Villa - eating on the garden patio) and on another night we had him teach us a few recipes. Guests are truly treated well - definately do the dolca vita package.
Did I mention the incredible views?

We just couldn't believe the view as we overlooked the Val D'Orcia with Pienza and Montepulciano in the distance. This is quintessential Tuscany!

We received the warmest of welcomes from the Moricciani family who, we are sure, work harder at pleasing their guests than any innkeepers or hoteliers we have ever met. The villa is stunning and spotless; everything is done to please their guests, including "special delivery" goodies each morning, fully stocked cupboards and wine cooler. If dinner out suits you, there is a very adequate restaurant about 100 metres distant; eating in? visit the co-op for anything you may need.

The beds are comfortable, the cleaning staff is friendly, and we felt as if we could stay forever. Bravo for such an excellent time!

Nothing to do but echo everyone else's reviews -- the warm welcome, perfect view, beautiful rooms in the casa, everything clean and well-maintained. Touring around southern tuscany is a completely different experience of italy, nothing like going to Florence or Rome -- the bustle is completely absent. The Moriccianis showed us so much of the surrounding area, made great restaurant recs, supplied us with a beatufiul basket of cured meats and cheeses, wine and oil from their farm. The vegetable garden at their nearby agriturismo was availble to us, so we actually did a lot of self-catering -- well-stocked kitchen -- eating dinner on the terrace, overlooking a stunning valley view. Incomparable.

Dear Kyra,

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to write such a beautiful review. We are so happy that you found the peace and serenity you were looking for, and also enjoyed our family farm and special activities. Thanks also for mentioning the Locherber body/beauty/home products that are made by my family made only in Switzerland and Italy, and it is nice to know you found them to be good for your skin. :-)

We wish a wonderful life and marriage to you and your husband, and hope that one day we will see you again!

With many thanks and warm wishes,
Isabella and Carlo

I can only echo the views shared by other reviewers that Casa Moricciani offers a very high level of accommodation and service. In particular the quality of the property and it's amenities, the care shown by Carlo, Isabella and others, and the high level of cleanliness are equal to the highest standard that I have experienced in travel globally. We look forward to staying there again in the future.

A perfect travel experience is one in which I come away with new insights, new friends, and an understanding of a place and its people as never before. In my many years of travel the two weeks we spent at Casa Moricciani were the epitome of all I love about travel. The villa is stunning, but the hospitality and true caring of Isabella, Carlo and the entire family opened my eyes to the soul of Tuscany, Perfection.

Dear Zari,

You have given us the highest compliment possible by saying your stay with us was "a perfect travel experience". That is truly our goal--to help our guests return home from their time in Tuscany with a sense of having felt a connection with its people, its traditions, and its culture. We know ourselves, from our own travels, that this is what makes the memories of a stay so lasting and meaningful.

We thank you for coming to be with us for two wonderful weeks--you are now friends with whom we hope so much to see again one day.

With deepest appreciation,
Isabella and Carlo

The Val D'Orcia area in Tuscany is beautiful, but this little spot is nothing short of heaven. We have travelled extensively and this is by far the most wonderful vacation we have ever experienced. Isabella, Carlo and their family made this such a warm and welcoming adventure. Our "Dolce Vita" stay was just perfect. Castelmuzio is a beautiful tiny hilltop town, easily accessible by car to Siena, Pienza, Montalcino, Montepulciano. The "options" that Isabella provided to us allowed us to participate in activities and explore these areas in a way that we would not have otherwise had the opportunity - cheese tastings, cooking classes, biking, wine tasting and more were all arranged for us and all we had to do was enjoy! We will remember most our pici night at Cretaiole - the people, the laughter, the food, wine and dancing was amazing. We vow to return!
