If you walk into a restaurant, and find a dog in the middle of the place, lying peacefully, and you freak out, then this is not your kind of place !
(no, the dog did not have fleas. It was clean and well-cared for. That's the whole point)
Common Ground Cafe in McLeodganj is a great place to unwind, get away from the crowd that has started throbbing to the town, catch up with anything you want (they have books, you can meet travelers, come with friends...) and of course, grab some great food.
Ambience: Very relaxed. Comfortably lit. The cross-legged sofa/cushion seating seemed more comfortable than the chairs. THey have a small seating place for a group / individual travelers outside as well.
Service: Non-intrusive. Satisfactory.
Food: Whatever I had was really good. The Taipei Noodle Soup was well-balanced, with generous helpings of tofu and a good amount of spice using the right kind of red chillies. I would have preferred more soup (aka water content) though. The flat noodles made it more appetizing
The spiked hot chocolate (dark chocolate used, with a dash of whiskey) was a great soother after an exhausting past 24 hours of walking around.
A traveler I met had a dish of sizzled vegetables with a sauce 9forgetting the name). Looked really fresh to me.
