We have visited the place in Feb 2011 and enjoyed every single minute of our stay. From the very beginning, a welcome drink and a warm welcome from our host Amrita, we felt like we are at home or in a place where we are long awaited. Transfer to and from the railway station (Madgaon) was not a problem at all. The premises were clean and neat, and so was our room (the pink one). Guard dogs, a couple of lovely boxers, were absolutely adorable, friendly and welcoming. Lots of trees, flowers and small things complementing to the style soothed eyes and soul. Bird songs and sun shining through windows in the morning added to the charm. Our room was spacious and had everything necessary, AC, shower, hair-blower and TV set included. Service was superb: prompt, but unobtrusive. Every request was carried out in a matter of minutes. Home-made breakfast was superb: nothing fancy, but extremely tasty, nourishing and served with a lot of taste, beauty and respect. Having all your breakfast requests given in the evening carried out to the letter was an additional bonus. So were birds, beautiful trees and small chipmunks sitting on some of their branches. The pool on the premises, cool and well-kept, was a welcome sight after spending all day on the beach. The nearest beach is located about 800 meters from the resort, and we had to take a taxi to it (about 100 Rs one-way), but that fact was overwhelmed by many advantages of the resort and excellence of the beach (suffice it to say that on weekdays morning (including Feb 14) there were absolutely no people on it, and sand and ocean were heaven-like). Amrita also helped us with finding the best place for our lunch and dinner (and it really was something). She was, in fact, a source of all necessary information and useful tips and helped us a lot during our stay. To summarize, the Silk Cotton resort is a perfect getaway from big city noise and stress, a place were you are truly welcome, pampered and catered for and, at the same time, can enjoy absolute privacy and serenity of the paradise-like place. Next time we are in Goa, we are sure to visit this hospitable oasis again.

After an exceptionally busy period over Xmas and the New Year, I just needed to get away and recharge my batteries. I found my holiday paradise in this warm, friendly and charming B&B, run by Amrita and her fantastic family. In their lush garden - or by the pool - you feel like you are part of the family the whole time. There is always time for a friendly chat about cricket - or a welcomed lift down to the beach. I can well understand why people keep returning to this oasis, in some cases for many years. The proximity to the airport is another welcome add on. I will definitely return.

We decided to stay at the Silk Cotton Resort after much discussion and reviewing other hotels, B & B's and resorts in South Goa. I'm so glad that we settled for this place.
It really couldn't have been more perfect.
We stayed for two weeks in one of the upstairs rooms in the brick bulidings, it was ideal, very large area, kingsize bed, good sized bathroom, enough storage space, safe, hairdryer, kettle, fridge, mini-bar. Everything that you could envisage needing while away. The grounds are lovely, a well maintained garden with many flowers and shrubs and of course the huge silk cotton tree with it's beautiful long red flowers, sprouting from its' leafless frame, the leaves don't come till later in the year.
The pool was perfect, each morning included a swim, after an excellent breakfast which consisted of fresh fruit, toast and jam, coffee or tea, eggs, pancakes etc could be ordered, but we decided the huge bowls of fresh papaya, pineapple, grapes, oranges and bananas, all topped with a squeeze of fresh lime, were enough to set us up for the day. The toast was cooked to our liking, well done on both sides, although we had to request this way of cooking, as the majority of establishments in most parts of India seem to only do one side?? I have no real clue why? But I have come across it many times before.
There are several postings on this site that mention aircraft noise, there is some noise on a couple of occasions through the morning and early evening, it is not a problem and lasts for seconds as military aircraft take off and land, we're probably talking 5 or 6 a day. It does not go on all day and night.
The walk down to Bogmalo Beach takes about 15 minutes at a leisurely pace, it is down hill, which makes the uphill walk a little longer, but is easily achievable. The Beach area has become more vibrant over the years with a lot of shacks, Joets at the far end of the beach does the best food on the beach itself, although it is more expensive and adds tax to everything. My personal favorite and one of the locals prefered eateries, is Claudi's Corner, it's not on the beach, but if you take a right just as you enter Bogmalo Village, following the signs to Coconut Creek, it's probably about 200 yards on your right. Excellent rice and curries, very reasonably priced, seafood is fresh and tasty, although seafood is extremely expensive these days, not the bargain it once was, I think that's down to the hefty influx of tourism from wealthy, drunken, Russians.
The hospitality and friendliness of Amrita and her family, was second to none, they were very warm and showed genuine interest in each guest, happy to chat, nothing was too much trouble, made us feel like old friends rather than tourists.
The dogs are very friendly, they may look a little intimidating, but are young and extremely inquisitive and playful, they love children and can easily manage a whole one for lunch, only joking!
We can highly recommend the Silk Cotton Resort to anyone traveling to Goa, not looking for the hustle and bustle of the extremely busy and Russian dominated resorts. this is how your experience in Goa should be.
I wouldn't hesitate to stay again on my next visit to Goa.
Amrita and family, I cant' thank you enough for making our experience of Goa so special.
Much love Ange & Jady xx

We stumbled at this charming little b&b tucked in a corner very close to the airport but a 15-20 minute walk to the beach.Well maintained garden, clean and airy rooms is the resorts highlights We stayed at the log cabins which was a wonderful experience as they are right next to the pool.We spent most of our 3 days stay around the pool soaking the lovely sun, before continuing our journey further. Amrita and family were a great host and breakfast every morning was incredible. We hope to return soon. One thing forgot to mention is that the minbar was very reasonably priced and not a rip off as they usually are.

We've been holidaying in Bogmalo 12 years now, and found Silk Cotton Resort three years ago, shortly after it opened. We've stayed there ever since and January/February was our third two month stay. Can't imagine staying anywhere else now, we've been more than satisfied with the accommodation and excellent service.
A small family bed and breakfast resort, the Silk Cotton family are friendly and attentive and nothing is too much trouble - just ask. You're picked up and taken back to the Airport at the end of your holiday, and an added bonus is that you have the care and security of living in a family anvironment whilst a long way from home.

There are six self contained rooms in a superb tropical garden, adjacent to a swimming pool with sunbeds. (A further block of four rooms were added and opened this season).
All rooms are tastefully decorated and comfortable and provide air conditioning, a ceiling fan, a well stocked fridge, and satellite TV. Breakfast is served whenever you want it and you choose your own menu (within reason of course) .
The garden is the family's pride and joy and it attracts lots of bird life and chipmunks. You can often see an electric blue kingfisher sitting above the swimming pool - one day it might realise there's no fish! If you're lucky you might see local monkeys in adjoining trees.
Ideal accomodation for couples, or families.
If you fancy eating in any night there are menus available from local restaurants and food
can be delivered.
Silk Cotton is a short distance from Bogmalo where you can find a number of bars/restaurants and shops, facing a sandy bay. For the energetic a 20 minute walk, but
there is a frequent bus service and taxis are readily available. Ideally situated for exploring Goa, Bogmalo is almost central. The Airport is a short distance away and there is a major train station and bus terminus in nearby Vasco. Local buses are the cheapest form of transport, the fare from Bogmalo to Vasco is only 9 Rupees (about 12 UK pence)! Any of the local taxi drivers will take you wherever you want to explore, and wait for you, at reasonable cost.

I decided last minute to go to Goa after spending 2 weeks in Ahmedabad on business. I came across Silk Cotton Resort on line and after reading the reviews I decided to book.

The welcome was warm and friendly and I immediately felt like I was on holiday, the resort is small and charming. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the pool added further pleasure. For those travellers who describe the walk to the beach as 2 minutes, its far from this, it will take a good 10-15 minutes and the walk back is all up hill.

My only complaint would the noise from the airport which is literally next door, so you can hear the flights coming and going, even the odd jet fighter because the airport is on the military base. So expect an early morning wake up.
