On arrival we found the Hotel locked up, there was a note on the door telling us to contact a mobile number to speak to someone who let us in. The room we were offered was extremely small (the Tulip room) an L shaped room measuring 10ft x6ft x10ft x 6ft with twin beds, no chairs, 6 coat hooks to hang our clothes on, a small chest of drawers on which was a small TV in front of which was service tray which would have had to be removed to watch the TV. no where for our cases. We asked for another room having had to phone again to speak to someone, as we seemed to be the only people staying we were offered one, a family room at an extra £30 a night, we reluctantly agreed as we were very tired and hungry and had been told a month earlier we could have an evening meal on arrival only to told no one was cooking. The room wasn't very clean and the bathroom dusty in all it needed updating again no chairs. we were a towel short, went downstairs, again no one about we had to leave a note on the bar asking for one. Came back the next day to find our room not serviced, beds not made and no coffee or tea in the service tray, we couldn't understand this as we saw on one else staying. Again no one about and everything locked up, a funny smell throughout the whole place and it felt like the " Mary Celeste'" abandoned, unloved and not a very welcoming place to stay.
