First of all, let me assure readers that our room was perfectly clean, and I am fussy in that way. I guess we were lucky, and maybe we got a better room because I was accompanying my elderly wheelchair-using mother. Also, I reckon it may have suffered badly during the Galway Races. In fact she found the room and bed very comfortable, and she's not always so satisfied. What I would say is that food is not the hotels strongest point, as things were a bit hard/overcooked. Reception and relaxation areas are very pleasant, and the leisure centre with its outdoor hot tub is really nice. The hotel's location suited us as a jumping off point for Connemara, but one needs to bee aware that it is very, very far from the seafront of Salthill, in an outermost pleasant residential suburb of Clybaun. It is a bus/taxi/car ride away from the city. Perfect as a stopover but I wouldn't necessarily base an entire holiday here. If you have already booked, no need to be concerned, enjoy the leisure facilities and have a relaxing time.
