We stayed at this hotel in May 08. There were five couples and 10 children. Found it fantastic place for kids. They had a bouncy castle for children in the open area which was great (this could have been special because of a communion weekend). We were able to stay in the wide corridor with huge leather sofas and armchairs until late in the evening with the children.

We all ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent.

The tea and coffee facilities were hidden under the TV in our large family room.

Had everything we needed. No soap in the bathroom was a bit weird but we used the shower gel/soap provided.

All in all a pleasant stay and all couples said it would be a good place to revisit especially with children as it was only 3-5 mins drive from Salthill itself.

I just stayed for 3 nights at the Clybaun and had a very enjoyable stay. Staff were excellent and extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel and amenities it offers are excellent i.e. hot tub, gym, pool etc. The bar food was lovely and very reasonably priced and you were even able to have it delivered to your room at no extra cost. Overall I found it very enjoyable with the only problem being the elevator occasionally being out of action which wasn't very convenient when you had bags or cases as well as an 18month old to maneuver up and down the stairs.

Stayed for just the one night with my boyfriend and was pretty disappointed.
For starters, although the room was clean and tidy a lot of things were 'off' about it. No soap in the bathroom which I found very very strange, no back on the remote control so the batteries were exposed, also the stand where the tea/coffee facilities were stored was cracked. Boyfriend found quite a few stains on the carpet also.I personally thought the bathroom was a bit rough too but he didn't seem to notice.
Very far out if you are walking, you'd need to get a taxi from the city or to most locations along the way ie Salthill which cost us approx €10 each way.
Breakfast was ok but the staff weren't very friendly.
Overall, if you're just looking for a bed to sleep in, its ok, but don't be expecting much more than that.

Stayed in this Hotel for 2 nights the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was very good we ate in the bar 2 nights the service was quick. The facilitys were good the hot tub was very nice and I really enjoyed the use of the swimming pool. The room was very comfortable and I really enjoyed my bed. Overall I had a very nice time to remember during my stay at this hotel I would return another time and recommend this hotel to any of my friends and family.
