Returned to this hotel for a second time, as we enjoyed staying here in July 2010 when we went to see Andrea Bocceli in concert just outside nearby Lajatico. The restaurant is excellent with traditional Tuscan food and a good wine list. The staff are great, very friendly with nothing too much trouble. The village of Chianni is small and pretty but very quiet, which was ok with us.
Would like to stay here again in the future.

Room Tip: Room 12 a good size overlooking the street

We visited Le Vecchie Cantine for one night on the way to a wedding in Sienna. The town is small but very picturesque, set on top of a hill with great views of the surrounding countryside. We traveled to this place because the restaurant had very good reviews and were not disappointed. The food and wine was excellent and reasonably priced. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for a relaxing break. We took off one star because we were looking forward to a dip in the wellness facilities but they were closed.

Room Tip: top floor with a view to the street.

This is a clean, peaceful B&B run by a really nice family in the heart of Tuscany. It is not far from Lajatico in the town of Chianni an surrounded by vistas of farmland and vineyards. The restaurant part of the hotel is excellent, with great local food and a friendly staff with limited English proficiency. We loved it.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the street can be noisy. There was a "Communion" dinner/party the day we wer...

Dear Client,
We apologize for the language inconvenient. The reception speaks several languages but wasn't present during your stay. I understand that this must have been rather annoying.
We are all very glad to hear you appreciated your stay and our hotel as we pay much attention to as many details as possible.
We hope to have you again at Le Vecchie Cantine!
Thank you for your kind feedback!

We feel lucky for choosing to stay here for our Tuscany trip. Channi is right in the middle of it, ideal as your base for day trips. The hotel is a beauty, and very well kept. The people is very nice and cordial, you can relax and feel welcome. And then there is the restaurant which is the real icing on a cake. The food is worth not looking further, in the middle of Tuscany! And, you can stay late, drinking as much wine as you dare and not worry about driving back. My highest recommendation!

Room Tip: Try to get one at the top front, you may get a view at the valley.

Dear Client,
First of all thank you very much for your kind feedback! We are absolutely glad to know you don't regret having chosen Le Vecchie Cantine for your trip through Tuscany.
We absolutely enjoyed your advice for other future clients: don't drive if you drank but if you stay at Le Vecchie Cantine you drink as much as you "dare" without any problem, we have plenty of beds! Thank you again for being so nice to us!

Stayed here for 5 nights in late April 2013. I need not repeat what so many have written about how great this hotel is. I will just reconfirm that if you are looking for a clean, charming, professional, cordial, warm, welcoming small hotel in a quaint rustic Tuscan village perched on a hill overlooking magnificent countryside with a very nice restaurant, then look no further. We had a great time here with a lovely room and look forward to coming back soon.

We travelled to Chianni to celebrate the Sagra del Cinghiale in late November 2012 and stayed at Le Vecchie Cantine. We could not have had a more delightful experience! The hotel is incredibly charming and the staff could not have been more caring and attentive. For those who are more comfortable speaking the English language while vacationing in Italy, there are those on staff who speak the language perfectly. The staff seems to eagerly cater to your every need.

One cannot write of Le Vecchie Cantine without describing their fantastic restaurant. It offers a good selection of traditional Tuscan dishes and seasonal specialties. We indulged ourselves with various delicious dishes that were flavored with truffles from the surrounding region. This is Italy (and Tuscany) at its best!

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the piazza.

It is situated in the town center with beautiful little square in front of the hotel. Magnificent surroundings if you came with an aim to relax and enjoy local wines and cuisine. It appears to me that hotel has undergone through complete refurbishment recently and furnished in old Tuscan style and decor. Rooms are spacious, however our room (No.15) was just above main kitchen and sometimes smell could reach our floor. Girl at the reception spoke excellent English. They had small problems with an Internet in the lobby area
